Raptors Taking A Look At Iverson?

Hmmm .... someone's in fantasy mode today.

A third option for the Nuggets to consider would be to keep Iverson and look to make changes around him. The change mentioned most frequently in the rumor mill so far this offseason has involved Anthony changing locations. Isn't it interesting, though, that most of those rumors have originated in New jersey where former Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe is now running the show? Vandeweghe obviously has an affinity for Anthony since he was the man who drafted him in 2003. However, Vandeweghe also has an affinity for stirring up trade rumors to attract attention as he did frequently during his time in Denver. The moral of this story is that Anthony likely won't be traded this offseason unless the Nuggets get offered an absolutely sweet package.

Instead, the Nuggets could look to tinker with the pieces around Anthony and Iverson, and this remains the most likely possibility. A big point guard to complement Iverson remains at the top of the list. Players like Jose Calderon, Kirk Hinrich, Devin Harris, Kyle Lowry, Jason Terry and Shaun Livingston are all players the Nuggets could consider. A perimeter defender such as Ron Artest also remains a possibility and some sort of low-post scoring threat wouldn't hurt, either.

Wow, if the Raps could pull off something and get AI, that would just be amazing. I'm also surprised at Denver keeping Carmelo instead of AI. Wasn't there talk before about Carmelo wanting out or something like that?

That's only because of age in my opinion Major. AI isn't a spring chicken anymore and Melo hasn't even enter his prime. The brighter future is obviously with Anthony. Only problem with trying to move Iverson is finding someone who will take on his huge contract of close to $22 million even if it is for only one season.

I doubt Bryan would consider someone like iverson. Besides the fact that he's old, he's also a quasi-loser who other than those scoring titles hasn't accomplished much in his career. After the big trade, Denver is pretty much just as good and Philly is probably even a bit better. No point in taking a chance with him, especially at 23 millions ...

How is he a loser who's not accomplished much?

He's the smallest player ever to win MVP and pound for pound probably the toughest player in the league.

He singlehandedly carried the 76ers to the Finals and multiple 2nd round appearances.

Not to mention Philly was 2 games below .500 in the East this season and the Nuggets won 50 games in the in the West.

Iverson would be interesting to have in toronto. But I cant imagine him playing in a team like toronto and its team-play style.

I don't want him here at this point in his career for 22 million a season, but the guy's not a loser.

Not a good fit, too old, and costs too much...find it hard to believe BC is even considering it

Theres been so much talk about franchise-changing trades here, and heres another one. Yes I realize they want to get rid of some of their best players but I don't think we have enough to give up to get guys like AI. This one's not coming true.

Iverson is a warrior... And a winner.. but at this juncture, I'm not sure he's what we need..and that price-tag is awfully rich. He'd be better on a team right on the cusp, like a Phoenix.

Won't work with his contract, and while I admire Iverson's spirit, his ball-dominating style and bad defense restricts the overall potential of the team.
