Raptors still inquiring about Nash

Quote:

Sources say Atlanta, Orlando, Portland and, yes, his old friends from Dallas are among the playoff-bound teams that have repeatedly told Phoenix that they're ready to discuss Nash scenarios as soon as the Suns are. Toronto and Minnesota, sources say, are two lottery-bound teams that rank as frequent callers, although Nash would figure to have a fair measure of say on where he goes in any potential deal because (A) he's only got one year left on his contract after this season and could refuse to sign an extension if he doesn't like the landing spot, and (B) it's widely assumed that Phoenix won't just trade Nash anywhere after so many years of good service and the mere fact he came back to the Suns after they initially dealt him to the Mavs on draft day in 1998.

I like Nash but I woudn't want to part with Derozan or Davis. Which is probaby the asking price.

Admiral 02-05-2011 10:20 AM

i doubt BC would part with those guys either which is why there's been so much inquiry and no deal, because BC won't trade his future, good man!

if its a trade with jose and weems i'd do it, at this point jose is jose, i'd much rather have an old nash than jose, considering the fact that we won't be good anyways for the next 2-3 years and jose isn't going to be our PG when we start being good
best scenario is we tank this season, get a good draft pick PG and get the nash trade done, nash starts for the time being and mentors the draft PG and bayless and by the time nash is too old we should be good enough then and 1 of those guys will lead us
but that is like fantasy

Admiral 02-05-2011 10:23 AM

i'm surprised he's not trying to make kevin love into a PG

there's no way nash goes to minny though, 1st thing is he's not demanding to leave, 2nd thing is if he leaves he's going to get a say in it and there's no way he says minny over any playoff/championship type team

and even we have the canadian and triano thing going for us

Our best young talent for a 36yr old PG. Good luck to them trying to get good young talent like that from anyone outside of maybe the top 3-4 teams that think he can get them a championship. And even then, they'll probably get a 30 something player and picks.

like any sensible person i love nash but i don't want him here
he needs to go to a contender
he deserves a shot at a ring and he won't get one here

jrob23 02-05-2011 03:41 PM

Knicks should trade Felton and possibly a 2nd round pick for him, itd be too perfect

didnt he say he wanted to play in NYC as well a while ago?

NASH to Toronto,
Please.. this would have been a dream 2 years ago. But not the nash of today. Even captain Canada COuldnt revive this injury plagued team.

js12 02-05-2011 04:41 PM

The Suns should cut ties to Nash.

He deserves a championship, and the Suns need to head in a new direction.

knicks shouldnt trade felton. hes young with more upside and doing an adequate job. they have other holes to fill and should do so via FA, not by trading young assets for vets. nash is good, no great, but has max 2 years left in him. doing such a trade would be horrible for the knicks in the long run and honestly, the only true contention dreams they will have will be in the long run.

ha123 02-05-2011 05:52 PM

Nash would be perfect on the lakers or heat. A pass first point guard who doesn't demand shots and get open looks for lebron, wade, kobe etc.

10gizzle 02-05-2011 05:53 PM

I'd love to see him in Dallas.

That would be too epic.

+1

Dallas would have to include Beaubois for them to get Nash. But even at the back ends of their careers, a point guard duo of Nash and Kidd is deadly. :yeah:

new question: who would start in dallas? nash or kidd?

i say nash, but mins split 30-25(kidd getting burn at sg at times).

wow they could even go for a speed backcourt of nas, kidd, J terry, and have dirk and chandler in the front. would be deadly speed with chandler clogging up the lane on d. WOWOW i want that team.

Dark Knight 02-05-2011 06:14 PM

Nash and Chandler would be an oop fest all game long. :dancing:
