Default Raptors sign Jerel McNeal and Chris Wright

Raptors have signed Jerel McNeal and Chris Wright to non-guaranteed deals.

Eric Koreen posted this on his twitter.

Apparently McNeal played in Italy last year while Wright played for both the Warriors and in the D-League.

This is the summer Colangelo kept referencing and talking about how we'll have so much flexibility, at the end of the day he just signed a bunch of no name D-Leaguers. Pathetic.

Anderson was good for us last season. McGuire will never play, same with Lucas unless something dramatic happens (injury, trade). Of course you're going to point to our end of the bench fillers because it suites your agenda. This is a better team than what we had last season, period. Lowry, Fields, Ross, Valanciunas are actual players that wil play and imo make this team far better. And 2 years after we started a rebuilding i'd say it's a start. WTF did you expect?

I expect Colangelo to at least attempt to get a player worth a damn. If you want to be a serious contender in this league you need a superstar, period. By the looks of it we are becoming Atlanta 2.0. Colangelo hasn't even attempted to get a top tier player with the exception of Nash (but he isn't top tier anymore, and hes too old to even get something out of it). Sure we have decent pieces on paper, but it would never amount to anything if we don't have a superstar. Colangelo's complete disregard of it is unsettling, if he hasn't attempted it this summer he most likely never will.

prove to me he has a complete disregard for signing a superstar.

he went for nash, nash went somewhere else. if you're suggesting DD, Ed, Jose + 1st rnd pick for iggy was a good deal, almost every single person in RF poll disagreed with you. AND, neither nash nor iggy can really be considered a total game-changing superstar anyway!

so come on, put you GM hat on and sign us a superstar. where's he coming from?

with the assets we had, how do you think we could have obtained a superstar this offseason?

Vito is right....Collangelo did preach about the capacity and flexibility available, but was unable to capitalize for whatever reason.

It'll be an interesting season at least. 2 rookies, 1 highly touted, the other a sleeper pick. A somewhat serviceable SF and a PG who looked like he was a top 5 guy for most of last season. Much better than the last few offseasons atleast.

Chris Wright, played at Dayton University. Not too far from me. Always hyped and was supposed to lead Dayton to the NCAA tourney but never did. As shown above, he can dunk.

actually the reason was very clear, nash chose LA over us, that was plan A. Plan B is basically what happened eventually, so I'm not sure what you expected. If you thought that we will be using that flexibility to get Howard or Deron, you obviously misread his comments.

Bottom line is that we improved the team by adding, in net terms, 3 solid pieces and we maintained a lot of flexibility for the next season when we'll be able to be in the mix for another talented player.

This team will never win a title, that much should be clear. On the other hand, if we can add another top 30 player somehow during the next 12 months (a SF ideally), we'd have a very solid core for almost a decade. Not title winning, but definitely 50+ wins kind of a team, which is more than we ever had.

Let's face it, we have a terrible reputation as a franchise, and a few years of 50+ wins will do a lot to change that, and hopefully we'll be able to build on that in the next decade.
