Gallo rebounds and McGee can protect the rim.... although he's not going to be a fulltime PF ever, he could definitely start and be very effective against most opposing PF.

they got wrecked inside with Faried and McGee, i doubt Gallo would hold his own against any. Even in NY it was Chandler who dealt with pfs.

Well with NY, I watched Chandler play mostly 2 and some 3, never started or played much at the 4. Regardless with Lee as your 5 I can understand why teams would play in the post. It will be interesting to see what happens when there is a 5 like McGee and Gallo healthy - depending on match ups I can see play at the 3 and 4; with Denver and Karl, I think we'll see a multitude of lineups.

Stoudemire, Chandler, Gallinari, Fields, Felton was what they went with most of the time.

Just because someone's 6'10", doesn't mean you can automatically insert them into PF and expect things to work lol.

Huh, I thought the only reason he played the 4 was cause he's 6'10" - damn

Yes after a disastrious year with Lee, Gallo played the 4 with Amare and the team did well. Makes sense to me.

Gallo has played at the 4 before, whether internationally or in Denver and NY... I don't think it's a stretch that he'd be able to play some minutes there as a stretch 4 for a team that loves to run and gun. Yeah, interior D suffers with stretch 4's that are weaker defenders but it opens it up greatly on the offensive side for your wings. If McGee has legitimately taken a step in his development as believed by many in the playoffs, he might be the type of player that can make up for a softer player beside him in the frontcourt.... though it didn't work with Blatche but I think that was just tow dumb as shit maroons playing together on a poorly coached team with a lot of inexperience around them. Denver has a much stronger environment more conducive to success for a player like McGee.

agreed 100%

to put it another way, if karl plays gal at the 4, it's a good idea.

I don't!

While Gallo has a pretty big advantage on offence he has a hug disadvantage on defence IMO

If some how he plays PF this season & averages 24+ppg then I'll eat my words.

& anyways who cares about Denver?

i think people were only suggesting he has some time at the 4, maybe 10-15mins.

i like denver and i like following other teams in the nba so i'm very interested to see how they do next year, nice team.

i'll just repeat if karl plays gal at the 4 for any significant mins then i think it's a good idea!

Dominic McGuire has similar skillset to Jamario Moon (except being bigger and more dedicated to defense), but this time we have him to play 3rd string not starting SF. Fields and Kleiza will leave him no minutes at all

If McGuire is capable of playing hard defense for 20 minutes around, then we need to let him play instead of Kleiza.

I know Kleiza is a great bench scorer, but looking at our current bench rosters - Jose/Ross/Davis/Amir/etc., we do need a defensive wing man and Kleiza can't defend anyone (or more like not interested in defending anyone..)
