Raptors Republic: Buyout, Playing Time or Bench

Good read courtesy of Arsenalist from Raptors Republic. :)

What do with some of the guys that are on our bench and who's worth having back next season and who isn't. Here's a little snippet, but click the link below to read it all.

Is there anything to be salvaged of this crew?

I would like to keep Hump, Pops and Graham.
Voshkul for dirt cheap would be okay and I'd leave Banks on the roster for when Roko is struggling as the backup.

I'd let OBryant and Jawai go.

No, but he is useless ... he's undersized and really has nothing to offer at the NBA level. I mean, he didn't even do that well in D-League. No offence to Jawai, but I think overseas is a better option for him at this point.

The only players i want back are:

Bargnani
Jose
Bosh (if he wants to stay)
Joey Graham
Marion
Pops

For the most part, the rest of them i'd trow them a cinder block! :evillaugh:

Exactly.

Id like to see this lineup for next year of the guys we'd keep:

Jose, Roko
?, AP
?, Graham
Bosh, Pops/Humps
Bargs, ?

And to be honest, I may look to get a more veteran player at the SF position and maybe sign and trade Joey to OKC. Lots of holes to fill, and again I wouldnt hesitate trading Bargs for the swing guy we need.

I like this lineup too... although I'd replace Joey with Marion if we could snag him cheap ($7-8M).

+1 and AP for a mill

Out of the people in the pictures I'd keep Joey, Pops and Jawai if he can actually get into shape. Voskhul I'd like if we can get him for really really cheap. I want Banks to be bought out and Humps has played like 2 games this year so sorry but bye-bye Humps

LX 03-31-2009 03:59 PM

If they can get something for Kapono, and be lucky enough to get Banks off the books somehow (maybe the NBA wants to offer that option again), then I'd be pretty happy.

Gurk 03-31-2009 04:01 PM

Hell yea LX. I'd be happy if we can get a conditional second round pick for them. Atleast we'll have some money to throw around

Hump, Pops and Graham.

Graham is an extremely solid backup small forward, and at the least is high quality trade bait. As much as Hump frustrates me to no end, he's an effective guy when he plays within himself.

As for Pops...he'll be here when we win the championship. Book it.
