Raptors in Punjabi

CBC will broadcast the Raps game against the LA Clippers in Punjabi next week. I think its a cool idea with large segment of fans being Punjabi. I have listened the leafs game in Punjabi and they sound pretty good.

The CBC was just promoting it. It's going to be on a few different channels, including 401 on rogers, which is the sports preview channel.

Matt Devlin and Leo will still being doing the game on main channel, like LX mentioned it will be on channel 401 of rogers.

Because they tried it with the Leafs and it was very successful. CBC also tired Cantonese as well but it didn't work out so well.

This is kind of cool to get people into the games but i don't see it really helping bring fans out or anything.

Will be funny to listen to the "phrases" when plays are made..cant wait!

most people that speak punjabi or hindi or urdu can generally understand eachothers language.

At least most of those from india/pakistan. Maybe not so much here in canada. I dont speak urdu or hindi but can generally understand what is being said when someone speaks to me in it.

I'm Punjabi as well, and I do have to note that whenever I go to the games there's always a large amount of the audience that looks punjabi/desi

i remember they showed a clip of it the 1st time yao ming played here

why not urdu or hindi?? you are complaining about Pakistanis and punjabi? half of Pakistan's population knows Punjabi man...so they shud be able to get through the games fine....mein lahore da banda hain, meinu ann punjabi samaj ondi hain....tu aap vi sikh leh yaara

Naw on Rogers it will come on channel 401 and only games on CBC will do this

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Most of Punjab used to be in Pakistan and yea if what you wrote is in Urdu I understand what you just said
