At least now Bargnani'll have an excuse when he disappears on defense.

I don't know if many of you guys were avid Blue Jays fans back in the day, but back in the day Blue Jays had a star player by the name of Carlos Delgado.

He was heavily scrutinized because he refused to stand up whenever "God Bless America" was playing in ballparks because he was fervently against the Iraq war. It bears in mind that players aren't simply sheep and have their own opinions as well.

I thought it was a very courageous thing that he did. Almost a decade later, no one has a good thing to say about that war.

Poppycock Sensationalism.

I bigger story hear is that the jerseys are butt fuck ugly.

Having them wear them a couple times to "support our military" (which I willing to bet translates to sell more jerseys) is not a big deal at all.

I know I know, the women will weep in the street when their kids see the jersey's and immediately enlist in the great power of the Canadian military and become brainwashed into attacking a defenseless dictatorship and raping and killing children while they were there. Shame all that could have been avoided if the Raptors didn't wear those ugly jersey's.

I will be sensationalist too.

this is also a very strong point. employers really shouldn't have the right to compel their employees to support any political stance.

mahmoud abdul-rauf comes to mind as well.

whether or not we think they look nice is absolutely not the bigger story. pushing he military through entertainment certainly is. and so is hiding political propaganda in the cloak of patriotism. mixing the two together is insulting and destructive.

Is it wrong to think that this is kind of a tool to promote propaganda?

?

do they put it on your sports team's shirts? do they hold games to support those causes? and are those causes contentious?

where is the connection?

Remember when the Raptors Supported the IRA by wearing green jersey's on St.Patricks day.....I wanted to kill so many Protestants, after that game.

No they have entire specials dedicated to it. When they go bowling for Big Brothers...jerks.

Just admit that you are anti-military and that is why you are against it, not because of some higher moral standing about propaganda.

more wool. either you don't understand my point or you are just being a troll. no way you can try to connect those two things rationally.

and for the record, i was not in favour of those either, although the reasons are different.

Not being a troll just using the same ridiculous sensationalism you did, albiet with less tact.

Just done with the moral elitism....they are wearing ugly camo jersey's not waterboarding people.

i'm not anti-military. but i don't blindly support the entirety of our military either. 'support our troops' is a blanket statement. there is nothing that deserves absolute support without question. that is extremely important in the exercise of a democracy.

the causes you are talking about are not contentious, nor politically motivated. and they have nothing to do with killing.

nice try.

i'm not sensationalizing anything. i am making a very reasonable political point, and not expecting you to take it hook, line and sinker. make your case.
