If last night was any indication as to how our rotation will be in the playoffs then there's no need to resign him

You've gotta be kidding me? Prior to last night Amir Johnson has been an integral part of the success of this team. And that isn't gonna change because Reggie Evans had a rare offensive night. In fact without him and Jarett Jack i don't know where this team would be right now.

Can you imagine no Amir this season, and no Jack when Jose went down for 6 weeks?

Yikes!

Amir played 6 fucking minutes!

That has nothing to do with my opinion, i don't know what ya'll are cosigning

Ya'll think it was a coincidence that Reggie is in game shape now and Amir's minutes go down drastically???????

Rofl

I didn't say I don't think he should be resigned... I think he should.. but if last night was an indication of the minutes he'll get now that Reggie is back and ready to play.. what difference does it make???

That's the whole point, last night was one game and it means pretty much nothing. Reggie was having a good game, basically playing above what he would normally do and taking a bigger role with Bosh out and since he was playing well he played more minutes. It means nothing.
And with Bargnani playing 45 minutes, Hedo playing some PF, and Reggie playing above his head Amir got less minutes.

The reason Amir didn't play much Friday was because he got into early foul trouble so Reggie, Bargs and Turk got more burn.

i also hope they keep amir . he is under sized but a warrior and in my opinion more usefull then reggie because he is mobile and not as stupid. Reggie looks great when his shots go down, not so great when hes turning the ball over and missing offensive putbacks that should have been kicked back out(we"ll see this reggie soon enough)

A guy with that kind of athleticism, quickness and youth?

MUST be re-signed.

WILL be getting generous offers from teams around the league. Our cap position isn't exactly accommodating this summer.

There's no question BC wants to keep him around for the long haul. CAN we resign him, and what lengths will BC go to in order for it to happen?

He gets that now.

To sign him it'll probably have to be in the ball park of around 4.5Mil/yr likely a 3 or 4 year deal.

the problem I have with Amir is that he isn't improving, or better, he is not learning.
I know he is young but this is his fifth year in the league.
on a per 36 minutes base, his rebound, block numbers and FT % aren't increasing.
Instead his TOV number and PF are not decreasing...
So, basicly this guy seem to be the same as his first year.

If we pay him based on potential, he is going to earn the veteran minimum because this is what he is going to be. His ceiling seem to be Reggie Evans number but we do have Reggie already.

His two biggest issue are PF and a little jumper to get defense in check.None of them have improved that mean that he is happy with what he is and his FT% is really low.

It seem a nice but lazy guy. I hope I 'm wrong for him, but he isn't worth 4-5 million/ year

I couldn't disagree more. The guy is far from lazy, and considering he's making 3.6Mil this season and having his best season, he'll get 4-5Mil/yr with his next contract. And i'm hoping it's with us.

SO, how you explain that his FT % is declining from his first year to now 60 % ?

FT doesn' require special skills, just practice.
Just give a look to Holly report from practice. Have you ever notice Amir with the ones staying longer ?
