Should've gotten Michael Beasley while we had a chance.

If we don't land a good pick in the lottery, we can package all our picks - two so-so, and one quite high, for a higher pick. That would take a lot of dominos falling just right, but it might work for a team at #1 that doesn't need a pg for instance.

Oh for crying out loud guys, if there is a deal that makes sense he'll make it. You want a trade and 10 million over the cap for a shitty player just t say you made a move????

Think about it.

I think the primary complaint is that he sold the TPE in the media as more valuable than it really was. Same thing with Peja's expiring contract.

he really didn't... he sold us on the flexibility it afforded... and it did. He has used both the TPE and Peja's deal this year is secondary moves... based on that flexibility.

Furthermore, he's not saying he won't use it, but it might not be likely.... in a league where trades aren't likely to begin with. Everyone needs to step away from their sega genesis for a moment.

thats what i was thinking, Wallace would cost more i think, but there are some pretty good defensive 3's available. If they don't trade the pick I can see the raps drafting a sf. (If Irvings available they take him). It would seem to me a strong defensive minded veteran sf would be great in the starting line-up. At some point in a rebuild you need to start adding the veterans.

Either way, it is not likely the new CBA will be in place in time to affect the TPE.
the CBA could affect the TPE, if the TPE is used on a player with a multi-year contract and then next year the CBA lowers the salary cap then the TPE and CBA does affect each other

1. off topic
2. why
3. no, really, why do we need beasley when we already have a superior version in Bargnani with the added benefit that andrea doesn't entertain suicidal thoughts when he's depressed?

I think that most teams, the Raptors included, will be hesitant to take on salary before the terms of the new CBA are finalized. A bad contract might handcuff the organization.

1. Yes, it was off topic but it was on my mind because of the TPE discussion.
2. Beasley can score big and pull down double digit rebounds.
3. He has off court issues (which was never a secret) but he's still a really talented player. Plus, He's only 22 and will mature with time and the right situation.
