Raptors lose tiebreaker; will pick 20th in 2014 NBA Draft

Lost the tiebreaker to the Bulls.

LX 04-18-2014 02:59 PM

This team sucks at ties.

jeffb 04-18-2014 03:00 PM

i'm shocked :face4:

Bill Haverchuck 04-18-2014 03:19 PM

That's okay. Time to find the next coin toss Ross da' three point boss! :mu:

Deez 04-18-2014 03:23 PM

Naturally, they'll pick Stauskas with it.

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 04-18-2014 03:27 PM

Will be interesting to see if BPA or for a position. If GV is kept and so is PPat (with KL being kept) - go for somebody who can play SG and SF - especially if they're BPA. Would Kyle Anderson be able to drop to us? Does anyone here know about his game or follow UCLA a lot?

Not a bad pick if he's still there.

moremilk 04-18-2014 03:33 PM

did we EVER win a tie?

JoeyJoJo Shabbadu 04-18-2014 03:51 PM

Let me guess.. the coin was flippped behind closed doors in the nba office.

RaptorsandBuckeye FaN 04-18-2014 03:53 PM

Doubt Stauskas is there. Or Kyle Anderson, although it will be close with him. If one of them fall, I would be all for picking one of them.

I made a post over on the draft board saying Toronto might look at reaching for Mitch McGary if he decides to go pro. It would be a reach, because he is now projected late first but last year he was projected lottery if he left. Has back surgery, so would need to do some looks at the back, but if the doctors feel he will be good to go, i would look at reaching for him as a backup Center to Val.

If you don't bring Patrick Patterson back, a guy like Adrain Payne would be someone I would look at for depth at the 4 behind Amir.

For the 2nd round picks, I would look at guys like SF Glenn Robinson III(if he falls to first 2nd round pick, will be close), SG Nick Johnson, PG Semaj Christon, and PF Patrick Young.

We can never catch a break, though it's not a big deal.

so statistically it should be 50/50, but we lost 8 times and won twice, yup that's raptors luck right there

Xombie37 04-18-2014 04:24 PM

Not too shabby. Either way, I'm excited to see who MU picks at 20, and late in the 2nd rd for that matter. Let's see those drafting skills come to fruition.

Side note; Philly will be drastically different next season. Top 3 pick, top 10 pick, and 5 picks in the 2nd rd. That's pretty incredible.

Deez 04-18-2014 05:45 PM

Draft express has 3 Canadians gone in the lottery.

And how's this....

Wiggins to the Bucks
Embid and McDermott to the 76ers
Parker and Tyler Ennis to the Magic
Exum and Capela to the Celtics
Saric to the Cavs

We the East.

About 3 years and one or 2 more drafts, the east west imbalance can shift. (If the same secret process that keeps losing us coin flips doesn't award Wiggins to the Lakers)

In otherwords, we lost every single time.

the irony is, everytime except last season, the raptors still ended up picking the better player :)

Apparently we also get Sacramento's pick (37th, and the 59th from the Knicks via somewhere.

I'm sure we'll be able to grab a quality player with the 20th pick, esp in such a highly hyped draft.
