Default Raptors are looking to Run this year...

I was reading an article about Amir johonson and he said

I heard they (the Raptors) are looking to get up and down the floor a little bit more,"

I dont need to mention this but BC is known for bringing unique style to Phoenix...Its obvious from that statement that the coaching staff has given a briefing to Amir about there future game plan..Running more up and down the court and we saw Jay triano been successful with this new strategy...

The question is can players like Chris, Hedo keep up with the runners. I know the bench is fit to do that and if Chris cant keep up with the running, would he get traded for another power forward. Would he lose his minutes to Amir johnson to get Bosh more resting time so he can run more...Again jay is also good at balancing minutes for players..

Second that.

And Bosh is an excellent open court runner, he's done it multiple times on multiple occasions. And last year the suns had shaq, the slowest C in the league and they still played there open court game.

Actually there is, we won't give him up for nothing. If he decides to leave, it'll be via sign + trade or a trade at the deadline.

Amir has information from last season. What does he know.
I could imagine a lineup of JAck-Belli-Derozan-Bosh-Bargs/Amir that will do well in running mode. But Calderon and Turk are strictly half-court players so that limits our options a lot.

They are going to run when they can. I would think they would be happy if Amir could do some of the things that Marion did. That didn't mean we were Phoenix north then, and it won't mean it now.

i'm with shifty on this one. perhaps the 2nd unit runs a lot, but our starting lineup is a lineup made for half court offence. jose and hedo as ball handlers and playmakers, several p&r opportunities, even between bigs, derozan or wright to slash and get to the rim off backdoor cuts and doubles... this doesn't look like a running team to me at all.

+1.

Jack
Belli or Derozan
Wright
Bosh or Amir
Amir or Bargs

I'd love to see that lineup get out and run, not only because they're more fit for a fast-break offense but also because I'm a fan of easy buckets for the bench. Let the starters grind out the tough points in the half court.

No issues with Calderon running the floor. Hell he beats his team down the floor most of the time only to pull up and set the offence. If the team runs Caldy can play that way. Caldy's biggest weakness is his strength, he likes to share the ball. If he can only be alittle more selfish it would open up alot more space for himself and others. When he wants to he can take it to the hole and shooting wise he is one of the best on the team so he should be shooting alot more.

Exactly. While I admire his willingless to not make any mistakes, you have to take risks...

Couldn't agree more. Calderon is more then capable at running the floor. He can play both ways.

True ...Calderon last year proved he could out run the team if he wanted..at times he would look back at players and see they havent ran up the court and give them a disappointed look...

I was reading an article on NBA...the starting lineup according to them is confusing...

PG: Calderon, Jack, Banks
SG: DeRozan, Belinelli, Douby, Weems
SF: Turkoglu, Wright
PF: Bosh, Evans, Johnson
C: Bargnani, Nesterovic, O'Bryant
