We trade Jose, and we could be looking at long stretches of shitty PGs for the next 4-6 years.
The last 5 seasons Calderon has been as injury prone if not moreso than Lowry.

Lowry- 59 games missed (19 of those weren't even due to injury but a staff infection)

Calderon- 54 games missed

even if say it's Granger/Augustin for Bargs/Jose. If one wants to keep Jose, unless Jose's extended before the trade deadline than you don't just hope he resigns in the offseason when he's a UFA.

It's Ric Bucher. I'd trust Broussard's sources over Bucher at this point.

Especially since he's told the team he wants to be traded. At the very least he'll test the FA market for likely his final contract.

don't make excuses for why Lowry missed games.... you don't know what filth he was rolling around in to get that staph infection.

and you do? either way, that's not a basketball related injury, or even an injury. Even if you want to say it is he hasn't been more injury prone in the last 5years than Jose overall.

That sounds like a bad deal for the Pacers, unless Granger's knees are really expiring.

Why only 5 years? Why not all Lowry's years like his rookie season where he only played 10 games? But let's ignore that, and count all the games Lowry has featured in since his arrival in the league and Jose "the glass hammys" Calderon's games in that interval.

JC: 44[5] games, 29[6] as a starter, ~13,000 minutes played
KL: 375 games, 154 as a starter, ~10,000 minutes played

Jose is 4 years older and although no two people are alike, injuries usually occur more frequently and take longer to heal in older individuals. The fact, that Lowry has had less downtown time than our supposed glass man, by a significant amount should raise red flags.

hey, why don't we build our future team around jose and granger - maybe we can call JO from Phoenix while we're at it ...

When is Colangelo going to accept that this team is not "one piece away", this team is 5 pieces away. If we could get granger for andrea and filler (i.e. jose/kleiza/amir/gray/fields/ anderson/acy etc), sure, by all means, he's a better asset to have.

JV/Davis/Demar/Ross and KL should not be traded for anything but prospects, young players and draft picks.

Sad part is I could see BC going after a Lowry/Bargnani for Granger trade

Granger's knee scares me at the moment, not sure he can fulfill his contract. I know we're risking getting nothing back for Jose but its a risk we have to take

Even an injured Granger would be a an upgrade at SF. That risk doesn't have to be taken and is poor asset management.

I wouldnt touch him at all, his contract expires the same time Lowry's contract expires which means only 1 of the 2 may consider returning

Chicago would.

They would send us Deng though.

Granger wouldn't be bad. He does bring an attitude lacking from this team and the guy would instantly become our most clutch shooter. But The Pacers are going to want Jose Back in return. They are desperate for a steady hand for their second rotation. This could be a great opportunity to dump Feilds as well. say Granger/ Augustine for Calderon/ Feilds. We dump a bad contract and get almost a 4 million expiring.

The Pacers would be wise to move Granger because George can take over that 3 spot, offensively and defensively. His game looks like it is at another level this season compared to last season. The only way I think a trade for Granger makes sense here is if his expiring contract next year (~$14 million) is worth something as a trade chip, but the expiring contracts seem less valuable now than they used to.
