Raptors Labeling Calderon As "Untouchable"?

More evidence that Jose's going nowhere and Ford's going somewhere.

raptor123 must be giggling like a school girl right now.

It very well could be. Makes teams want him even more. You know the old saying "You always want what you can't have"....

of course they will label him as untouchable...
they have to say that... saying he's untouchable will prevent teams from making high bids, and us having to pay too much.
this way, teams wont even try because they know the raps will match the offers.

no - because it's a very expensive "try-out" + few teams could even attempt to offer him anything. Only 2 or 3 teams have 8 million+ in cap space this summer, and when you sign a restricted free agent, your cap-space is tied up for 10 or 12 days - so if you luck out, you will probably miss all good opportunities in the meantime.

Not to mention that all other GMs will hate you, because there's nothing more than hate than somebody signing their restricted free agents, especially when they made it clear that they will match.

Precisely. Don't forget, we talk about "codes" all the time in sports, but you can't forget that GMs are a tightly knit group. A few faux pas and you could find yourself without many dance partners.
