Raptors Raptors Interested in Rajon Rondo

It’s no secret Boston has dangled four-time all-star Rajon Rondo league-wide and while the asking price is steep, he has piqued the interest of Toronto’s front office, according to multiple sources. Toronto is eager to up its “star” quotient and is also enamoured with Rondo’s resume, particularly his four all-defensive team selections (two all-NBA first team). He has many backers in the organization.
Ohboy.

If acquired,I think this will be a benefit to Amir and Valanciunas. Lowry is better than Rondo at the moment but I prefer Rajon over Jeff Teague. It all depends on the Celtics asking price. Maybe a deal works if a 3rd team gets involved but I wouldn't wanna see Ujiri part with 2 1st's unless they're getting rid of Landry Fields and Chuck Hayes in the process.

He's a terrific player, but the main issue I've had with him is that he's a weak free throw shooter. His career % is around 65 isn't it? Perhaps I'm being too particular.

It's not surprising that this is a rumor. They want picks and a valuable piece, and we have both.

I would hesitate to give up a second 1st round pick though, as Rondo still has yet to prove he's pre knee surgery Rondo, but this rumor is definitely exciting.

Rondo running screen roll with Valanciunus the next 6 years would be great.

You are. He doesn't get to the line a lot because of his creativity in the paint, and he has avoided contact in the past, which hasn't been a detriment to his team.

In crunchtime, he can be the inbounder anyway, so his free throw shooting won't hurt in that instance.

I'm guessing NYK takes Lowry, and one of the two 1st rounders come from NYK while we give another in our possession.

Not sure how i'd feel about this one. Still don't think he knee will hold up long term and his atittude has been in question in the past. For such a good player he's constantly in trade rumors. And besides, he apparently doesn't want to go to Sacramento, why would he want to come here?

Yeah, true enough. He'll be 28 soon, so he should still have plenty of solid ball left post surgery. Has there been any complications with his recovery at all? If so, it'd be rough to give up a ton for him.

He has one of the best IQs in the league. He's only going to become a better play maker.

I'd do Lowry and a first for Rondo but not a whole lot more; maybe a bench player.

We would miss Lowry's shooting a LOT.
