Pistons Raptors Interested in McDyess?

Looks like HoopsNation might have been onto something. McDyess would be a great addition to this team to help out our weak front court. Seeing how Maxiell has stepped it up, Antonio might be expendable in Detroit and would definitely get some burn here in Toronto.

You guys like the possibility?

Rasheedís too expensive for one year, I donít see Dumars moving Prince or Hamilton, Billups isnít a good fit at his age right now and none of the good backups (and thatís limited to Jason Maxiell and Rodney Stuckey in my book) are going to be available.

I know Bryan tried to obtain McDyess in the middle of the 2006-07 season for a package centred around Mo Pete; maybe he makes the same offer with AP as the guy?

I swear McDyess is a UFA. Why would we have to give up Parker for him?

Regardless of age, I'd still give him a 2-year contract for the MLE. Solid glue guy off the bench, grabs boards, has won a championship, tough. Sounds a lot like Oak (sans teh championship)

33 is still better than 34. And 34 is going to be 35. I like McDyess but does he have another 2 years in him? I know AP does.
I wouldn't mind MLEing McDyess. In fact, I would love him to be MLEd.

We need a McDyess more than we need a Parker. Let's face it, Parker shouldn't be a starter in this league. Don't get me wrong because I love the guy, but he's a lifer as a bench player who will give you a good 15 to 20 minutes a night.

As Hoops alluded too, we need Antonio alot more than we need Parker at this point. Helps makes us alot tougher, great rebounder and has a ton on invaluable experience when it comes to the post season. Those things are alot more valauble than what Parker brings to the table at this stage of his career. JMO

and he's always injured ... I can't believe how much you understimate parker, " a lifer as a bench player"??? The guy was two times MVP in Europe - granted it's Europe, but still, MVP is MVP ...

Thank you for putting a little perspective on things Hoops. Although, the reference to tyke football is a little extreme.

Comparing any other basetball league to the NBA is laughable milk. Parker is a solid player with an amazing attitude, but is good on an average team. You put him on a contending team and he rarely sees the floor in my opinion.

BTW, McDyess has been relatively healthy for the last couple seasons. He's worth the risk in my opinion.

Does McDyess still has his knees?

I don't know... IMHO this guy is done, sure he was able to contribute to good Detroit team but for Raps can he do more then Rasho?

Raptors fans have a bad habit of greatly overvaluing their own players.

Does Rasho have any knees? Rasho's vertical is a good 2-3 inches.

Detroit was one of the harest working teams in the association and he played a huge part in that. If I'm not mistaken, he was a starter and still played at a decent level, so for sure, I'd give him a 2 year contract at the MLE. Why not? It addresses 2 things: Rebounding and toughness. Plus it doesn't hurt that he has championship experience.

Mcdyess is 10x better than Rasho. He played out of his mind in the Boston series and was Detroits best player for at least 2 or 3 of the 6 games. Problem is he said himself he wants to play for a contender and win a title in the next couple years before retiring so I doubt he'd want to come to Toronto. He'd be a great fit though.

McDyess actually hasn't missed that much time the past 3 or 4 years if I'm mistaken so his health concerns are past him.

My concern, and much like Thriller alluded to, is his desire to win a championship is probably higher than signing with an "up and comer". I could see him in Orlando, Los Angeles, Dallas or San Antonio next season.

35 is the new 28?

Getting McDyess would be incredibly good, and you have to give up something to get something. I wouldn't think twice about giving up Parker for starters. That would be a sweet deal.
