Raptors interested in Dalembert?
Big decisions await the Raptors as they play out the string on a season gone completely awry. There is no bigger question than the ongoing need to acquire a big, a franchise-elusive piece that was somewhat addressed with the presence of Jermaine O'Neal until the six-time all-star was dealt to the Miami Heat last month. What Samuel Dalembert brings to the table is precisely what the Raptors need, a legitimate big who will defend and rebound, block shots and at the very least alter heaves. There has been absolutely no link between Dalembert and the Raptors, but it's no secret the Seton Hall product asked to be traded earlier this season when he wasn't getting consistent minutes. The Sixers, turns out, tried in vain to ship out Dalembert prior to Feb. 19 trade deadline.

I really, really, really hope not.

Krazy Ivan 03-12-2009 05:14 PM

If they are willing to trade him for Kapono... I would do it.

Ball Don't Lie 03-12-2009 05:24 PM

I think itd help our interior D and rebounding a lot if we got Dalembert.

Then we would have to trade Bargs for the guard/forward we need and build from there.

Like I've said many times before, Bosh is at his best with a true center having his back. Getting a Dalembert, Rasho, or Haywood type would be fantastic for Bosh and it would take a lot of pressure off of him.

Dalembert is due to make $23.5 mil for 2 years, after the offseason

How about Dalembert for Kapono :mischief:

Admiral 03-12-2009 07:03 PM

he's not going to like coming here and having to play behind cb and bargs, he's already annoyed about his lack of minutes in phily
but it would be good because he's canadian and he'd really piss leo rautins off, hahaha

NaturallyStoned 03-12-2009 07:08 PM

I'd do it just to piss off Rautins.

In all seriousness, if they'd take Kapono, sure. They're probably the one team that might be interested in him.

Bmats7 03-12-2009 07:08 PM

How about Bargs/Kapono/Banks for Dalembert and Igoudala?

Dark Knight 03-12-2009 07:08 PM

Three team trade with Philly, Utah, Raps...possible?

zachus 03-12-2009 07:13 PM

No thank you.

Snooch 03-12-2009 07:13 PM

Bosh Banks to Bulls
Kaps, Hinrich, Jawai to Philly
Deng, Sammy, Evans to Raps

NaturallyStoned 03-12-2009 07:17 PM

We're getting jipped in that deal. Deng isn't healthy enough to merit the money he's paid.

Kuzzy 03-12-2009 07:48 PM

Don't let last nights performance fool you TO.
Dalembert is a foul prone center with a really poor offensive game.

Ball Don't Lie 03-12-2009 07:52 PM

Foul prone on a team where hes the only defensive presence and bigman.

You put him on a team of vets where he isnt the one having to try and correct all the problems hed be fine as a starting center. Many of the starting centers cant create their own offence, we'd just need Sammy to rebound and block shots and be a presence and hes more than capable of that.

Kuzzy 03-12-2009 07:58 PM

Well being the only presence inside for Sixers he should be averaging more then 10 a game..
He really has no post game at all and the raptors dont consist of a group of vets.

Snooch 03-12-2009 08:01 PM

The Raptors consist of nothing but outside players though.

Dalembert is great on the offensive boards as well as defensive.

All his points are mostly from putbacks.
He also runs Very hard on the break.

Pairing him with one of our bigs who tend to play outside(specially Bargs) and Dalembert will have ample opportunity to crash the offensive glass.

LX 03-12-2009 08:04 PM

Dalembert - yet another legitimate all star to add to this team of legitimate all stars.

God is good.

Kuzzy 03-12-2009 08:05 PM

Yes I agree with you guys on that we need an inside presence, but I just dont think Sammy is that guy.
I would rather go for someone like Bynum and Kaman.. Big men who have a polished post-up games, are capable of dropping 14+, and grabing 10.
But then ofcourse there health would be a major concern
