Default Raptors Have Now Reached Midway Point of the Season; What Do You See In Future?

In their 41st game of the season the Toronto Raptors totally dominated the Dallas Mavericks. At the midway point the Raptors are above .500 with a 21-20 record. If they can duplicate this record in the second 41 games they will secure a playoff berth with 42 wins. Here are some preseason predictions:

2009-2010 Team Preview: Toronto Raptors - RotoEvil.com - The Best Fantasy Basketball Draft Guide & Analysis. Period. Predicted 42-40

TrueHoop Network 2009-2010 Preview: The Teams - TrueHoop Blog - ESPN Predicted 41-41

NBA Summer Forecast: East standings - ESPN Predicted 39-43

Toronto Raptors 2009-2010 Game-By-Game Predictions, Page 6 of 6 - Associated Content - associatedcontent.com Predicted 32-50

With what you know now and what you expect for the remainder of the season; what kind of regular season record do you think the Raptors will wind up with?

Personally, I think something in the high 30's to the low 40's, which will keep them in the playoff hunt until the final day of the season.

Looking at the schedule the rest of the month, and especially in February ( many teams we should beat + only 3 road game the whole month), this team has a chance at 44+ wins.

24-17 in the second half is very attainable and i expect it really. I can see us going 8-2 or 7-3 in February.

Agreed, I'd rather Orlando over the Hawks. We could actually have a chance in that case.

Orlando is arguably the most talented team but they lack chemistry. I definitely would not want to face boston b/c they are too well coached and that team brings it every game. Atlanta is way too athletic for us. Its a toss-up between CLE and ORL but ORL will more likely bee the team we face due to seedings.

If we stick with the players we currently have, we're toast against any of them. 5 games tops against any one of them unless we upgrade our D which is what wins in the playoffs. We're playing better D now and we still give up huge leads.

Hahahaha..... I'm digging the positivity here.

IT'S ABOUT TIME!

I'll stick with 45-50 wins.

I'd attribute that more to a loss of focus and complacency than anything else.

In those games it's usually our offense that has hit the wall and not come through.

The Raptors opponents in the first half of the season had a combined record of 832-779, or 0.516 winning percentage. Their opponents in the upcoming second half have a combined record of 756-862, or 0.467. If they can play with intensity and focus on defense for the rest of the season, I think they could get to 45 wins and a 5th seed.

looked through the schedule, and 52 wins is doable
we'd have to continue to play well and improve on D, and we must win all the winnable games and lose all the losable games. It's unlikely, but not impossible.

45 or so is about the most we can probably expect imo. Which is fine by me. I would love to get to 48-50 and challenge for 4th but i doubt that would happen.
