If he was 'just a shooter' or a 'chucker', Steve Novak would have been on the court and Copeland would have been on the bench.

As a rookie who had success despite not having a consistently defined role, there is definitely the possibility he can get better. I think it's likely.

He's almost 30 though

He's 28... he's not going to be the next Lebron or Kobe, but in terms of free agents, a team can do a lot worse then Chris Copeland.

He's 29.5, and I agree we can do worse. Like keeping Kleiza and/or AA.

This would fit with Nurse's offensive 4-out style, which I imagine he'll be specializing in with the Raps (along with player development). Stretch 4's and big threes. You need guys who can shoot in that type of offense, so I expect to see big changes even if we decide not to go the tank route.

29 & 1/4

Alan Anderson was our best man defender last year. Throw out the pressure of needing to play for a contract and if he keeps his work ethic he'll be a very solid piece of the bench.

I like Kleiza to, but his belly is only getting larger as he eats more and more spurgos.

O pray AA isn't here next season. DC would over play him again.

DC loves AA, I think it's better to keep him and move out higher-priced but similarly effective shooting guard talent

If AA is still on the team next year, then MU hasn't done his job. AA is one of DC's big weaknesses.

A bit of coaching news and more appreciation for a great series - Doug Smith's Sports Blog

No confirmation, but there's been talk of Nurse joining the team for about a month now. Similarly with Tyronn Lue, but there was always the caveat that he was also being courted by Rivers for wherever he ended up. Lue got hired on in LA once Rivers went there I think, but the Nurse hiring should still be likely.
