Default Raptors Getting Insulting Offers For T.J.

Take this with a grain of salt it's a new jersey article. The only thing is that T.J is injury prone and has a reputation of being selfish. We only had to give Charlie V to get him and his stock has fallen since.

So i still think we won't get that much for him without throwing AP or someone else into the deal.

Sheed is too old IMO. TJ's 25. Let's get someone around that age, if possible.

It only makes sense that teams are going to try and lowball the Raps for a guy with TJ's medical history and disposition.

TJ's got a pretty heavy contract considering his injury risk to give up something of decent value for him.

It is insured though in case of injury, so it's not a huge risk. The possibility of injury is why nobody will give up a whole lot for him unless some other player(s) are included. ie: AP,Bargnani,Kapono or Delfino?

Screw them, they obviously see nothing in him, he's not amazing, but still he's an above average PG, they're treating him like shit for these brutal offers.

It's likely just in the beginning negotiation stages. You always enter a low ball offer first and see where it goes from there; usually to gauge interest.

It's usually what's asked for in return, then you start the true negotiations. But trade talk this early in the summer and with the draft still a few weeks away, nothing of substance should be discussed.

I still think there's a better chance to trade him once the season starts, or closer to it, but there has been more interest than many thought already. BC needs to figure out who is really interested, and play them off of each other. The insurance has to help, and I completely disagree with the portrayal of him as a selfish player, and I don't think that would be how he is seen around the league at all. His disposition could be something to slow GMs down a bit, but along with the poor side of his disposition is his obvious competitive nature, so I think that's pretty much a wash. This is the NBA, and TJ hardly has a disposition that would have suited the Blazers of two years previous. In relative terms he has a pretty good head on his shoulders. Once again, remember how much playing time he was willing to give up, even though he couldn't give up on the idea of being a starter. Get enough buyers competing against one another for him, and the offers will hardly be insulting. At the end of the day it's hard not to imagine other players being involved as well.

Problem is, until we trade TJ, we can't make any other signficant move, because it would limit the options even more.

Wasn't it also a New jersey article that said they were looking at Bargnani, and then it came out as total BS?

being that the free agent list in terms of point guards peaks at the likes of beno, jason williams and mighty mouse, teams are going to become desperate once the market starts flowing. like LX mentioned as well, once teams can actually determine how badly they need a point guard of ford's calibre in the season, his value will peak. i wouldn't be up-set if we held on to him until december.

BC's no idiot. he's no Babcock...
the last thing he will do is rush a trade just because he has to. Especially if he's going to get fleeced. He'll work something out according to his clock and instead of panicking, he'll take his time and not sweat about anything... he's too cool for that.
If you guys are expecting nything soon, you better relax, TJ isnt going anywhere fast... BC will hold his cards close and let the other teams panic before getting to the nitty-gritty.
If the past is any indication, we'll see the other positions get filled up fast on most rosters, then GM's freak out because they NEED pg's... i remember the same thing happening a few years back and by the end of the summer, teams were fighting over FA earl watson, LOL.
just wait...

So apparently today BC has received some "serious inquiries" regarding Ford.
