Default Raptors are fielding offers for Jason Kapono

Hmmm .... interesting. With the Western Conference teams loading up, apparently the Raptors are listening to offers for Kapono now. Don't know if this has anything to do with this weekend's results, but if he can be moved than I'd be open to it.

How about you guys?

I'd much rather find a better way of utilizing him.

As would I Mike, but Sam's gonna have to make some decisions sooner rather than later. If we're going to utilize him more, then Sam has to find a way to get him more minutes. Right now he's finding a tough time to be fair to Jason with repect to playing time, because he wants to get Moon, Delfino and Parker their minutes too. There's only so much he can do.

i'd rather we dump him.
he's getting paid alot for a guy who barely gets 10 minutes a night.
we paid him that money with the impression that he'd be our starting SG... and now, he's like our third SG in the depth chart.

Considering Raps will have to pony up 10 mill for Jose and 5 mill for Delfino... they will have to shed some weight... it would be perfect if they can get rid of Rasho's contract but more likely they can trade Dixon, Graham & Kapono... this is the price you pay for having decent players... every good went through this but managed to make it work cap wise....

Ugh .... you think Jose gonna get 10 million? I hope not or we're fucked. No way we're going to have 18 to 20 million invested in our PG's.

I'd keep Kapono. I think in the playoffs he'll become pretty valuable, but this is just a hunch.

And I agree, I see about 9-10 million going into Jose this off season. And if that happens I say next season, let's say around next December or January we'll likely move TJ to address both our long and short term needs.

maybe we can start fielding offers for a coach than can utilize the best 3pt shooter in history ... And before you can start throwing "he can't defend" arguments, remember that he played (even started) for pat riley and had reasonable success. I don't remember us burning kapono last season ...

I cant believe we cant utilize the best 3 point shooter in the league.

I pretty much know whats going to happen when the Raps have the ball, what the opposing scouts/coaches know has to be 10X more.

Time for some creativity on offense.

5 million for delfino ... uhh NO.
i say resign Calderon 4 years 35 million with last year being a player option
and Delfino
3 years worth 12 mill MAX...
he knows it himself, Toronto is the best team for him, he wont have much suces anywhere else.

and Kapono hmmm
wouldnt hurt to have the best 3 point shooter in the league for just 6 mill. on your team.
he'l come in good use when Bargs becomes a better rebounder and wen we get a athletic SF who can do it all.

Unfortunately Kuzzy, Delfino will get at least 5 million. I mean, if Kapono can get $6+ million, do you not think Carlos is at least worth a minimum of $5 million?

Depends on what dictates that. If we're using the All-Star competition to gauge that then maybe, but in game three's are alot tougher to hit than ones a competition. His percentage is still impressive, but I'm not sure if I'm comfortable in awarding him the "best 3 point shooter in the game" honor just yet.

Nobody percentage wise, but he's only averaging less that 2 three's per game. I'm sure given the opportunity to shoot more his average would come down from the current 51% he's shooting right now. Either way, without being contested then Kapono's the best the league, but under pressure it might be different story. It's a shame that there isn't a stat for shooting three's under pressure.

Sure when your a one dimensional himbo with no D at all and all you do is practice shooting treys all day and practice for a meaningless competition that gets literally no publicity 5 min after the event (watch ESPN they dont even show highlights haha) then you might be the best 3 point shooter in history... i mean he does have a nice shot, but i wouldnt say this about him, you gotta say guys that do more then just spot up and shoot 3s are better, he cant create his own shot, but he is prob the best spot up 3 point shooter. With that said, he should try working on other parts of his game and stop worrying about a silly competition.

Btw Sheed can shoot 3s with his left hand :P (u know i love sheed and u know that WAS SICK!!)

I think those of you that claim we're not utilizing Kapono are focusing too much on the n umber shots he's getting and missing the bigger picture. Having him on the floor draws attention away from the rest of the team. Team's can't leave him open, and they're clearly not... and this is helping Bosh and Bargnani and the rest.
