If Jose is your 2nd best player you're not a good team. Also, he is right now our biggest tradeable asset because of the way he's playing. Teams that are trying to build something have to know when to trade an asset to try and aquire more assets that can help in the future. And since Colangelo has pretty much come out and said we need a PG for the future, he's admiting that Jose isn't part of the long term plans here......so why keep him when he's at his highest value? The intelligent thing to do is at the very least shop him and see what type of return you can get for him, even if you have to throw in an Ed Davis or future pick. If a deal isn't good enough to do, so be it. We're not being forced to trade him.

Jose Calderon ó The offers are piling in and he only has a year (at $10.5 million) remaining after this season on his deal, but hard to see a move since Raptors donít have an alternative at the point.

Ooooh. And Jerryd Bayless gets up off the floor after a stinging backhand to the face that hurtled him to the ground violently.

Can he just stay down?

But this does raise an important issue - if we're to trade Jose, are we limited to trading him only for a PG? Can we endure the rest of the season with a Bayless/Forbes/Carter situation at the point? Would that be the worst rotation the league has ever seen at the PG spot?

There aren't many good PGs we'd be able to get back, but I wouldn't mind this trade: NBA Trade Machine - ESPN (suggested on RR)

They could cut Butler and sign a FA PG.

we're bad anyways, so we can endure pretty much anything.

as far as worst ever - remember that we ran will solomon and roko ukic for pretty much an entire season.

Solomon and Ukic were better PG's than Bayless. No doubt Roko would have put up better numbers if he was given the number of shots Bayless is allowed to throw up.

PG is the only real place where there is are a lot of UFAs at year end. Trade Calderon and we can replace him there. There is probably no other position where we can improve through free agency. Calderon has to go unfortunately. And that is why we don't need or want a PG back.

Toronto: Crawford, Ridnour

Minnesota: Felton

Portland: Calderon

???

Quote:
I do believe there is something to all the talk of Portland sending Jamal Crawford to Minnesota for Luke Ridnour. There's no getting around the fact that Nate McMillan seems to prefer using Wesley Matthews as the backup shooting guard over Crawford. If that's the case, with Nic Batum now firmly ensconced in his rightful position as the starting shooting guard, Crawford isn't going to get the minutes he deserves. If that's the case, move him and move him as soon as possible. I'm not sure what they were thinking of by bringing him here in the first place.

Quote:
I also been told by league sources that the Ridnour trade is a backup plan for the Blazers, who are still hard after another point guard. That could be Nash, Rajon Rondo or Jose Calderon.

-- This team has to do SOMETHING. Don't be deceived by the home win over hapless New Orleans. This team still needs a shakeup.
Trade rumors swirling around Crawford, Felton

Calderon is a legit starting point guard. Bayless is not.
If we trade Calderon we need a PG that is better than bayless.

Who is available?

Would an AMir/Caldy for Rondo work? lol
