Too bad Marion can't shoot for shit, because he can certainly defend the SG position.
if marion starts at SG it doesn't mean he needs to play the SG position, it just means he guards the SG position, he can still play another position on the offense
on offense the positions don't matter, its how your teams decides to set up the play for the 5 guys on the team

If he brings the same game he had before but with a more mature, composed and consistent attitude, I'm all for him being on this team.

Any improvements skill wise are just a bonus at that point.

I think he'll thrive here, and be ecstatic to be back in Toronto after the last year in bum fuck Russia. He'll be appreciative to just be back in the NBA imo.

Yep - I think a lot of the real criticisms that some like PB allude to, stem from him being put in some ill-defined roles due to injuries while he was here. And then he sometimes made things worse by trying to do too much when there was absolutely no need for it. I think the team might be that much better now, and he might be that much more mature, that it works out ok. I had a real love/hate thing going with his game, so I'm not too invested either way. I'd just give him a week, maybe two, to show something before I got upset about him being here.

To tell you the truth, I love this guy! Mainly because he helped Argentina when nothing and nobody seemed to work! He won that Beijing medal. It was not Ginobili, it was delfino. He and Scola defeated brazil's team (barbosa, splitter, nene, varejao, marcos vinicius, marcelinho machado) when Manu was resting. Delfino carried our team against Greece (he looked like MJ that game - if you doubt about it download the video http://www.bckhimki.ru/files/gallery...lfinooly08.wmv)

the real truth - At the age of 26, he has outstanding talent, but he needs to change his mind a bit. He has to learn that he needs to take over his teams, and he progressed a lot in Russia. He still has a lot of room to improve! He has all the physical tools to become a great scorer in the NBA

Strenghs - He makes a fade away look like an easy shot. He can hit unbelievable shots. His drive has never been outstanding, but he has improved it a lot since he's tall and strong for a guard. He has great ball handling, he developed himself into a reliable game distributor (he can replace Calderon down the strecht or bring up the ball when Jose rests). He has good lateral quickness, what makes him a good defender. He'd be Raptors' best perimeter defender (in case we play D-Wade, Ray Allen, Pierce, Hamilton and other fellows). He's a much more consistent shooter and he improved his court vision (much more assists). He learned how to play off screens. This is the moment for him. He's at his best. He'll be back to the NBA to be great

Weaknesses - he can disappear sometimes (it's much less frequent nowadays), he can turn the ball over when he drives to a crowded basket, he is a backcourt player! Don't let him dead on the corner. He's a streak shooter He can get 6/6 or 1/6

I'm pretty sure Boston would trade Ray Allen for Delfino and fillers (youth movement, defense and cost cutting) . I'm pretty sure Delfino can start on the Bobcats, on the Spurs, on the Magic, on the Heat (SF), on the Hawks (SF), on the Wolves, Thunder, Knicks ... Why not on the Raptors (Bargs and Bosh /whoever he's traded for/ need 3pt shooting and a guy to make a little bit of everything

Read what I said. I watched at least 15 Khimki's games and I said the truth

"Bum Fuck?"
Russia can be a pretty beautiful and interesting country. And if you have lots of money, i'm sure it can be an amazing experience. I'm not saying that i prefer Moscow to Toronto, but you shouldn't be so narrow-minded.

I enjoyed him in Beijing as well, and that is where some of my love for him comes. I didn't think he was MJ - unless it was MJ with the Wizards, but he played nicely.

I also agree that he can disappear. Now if he can even things out and not have to take over like he did in the olympics, and a bit too much with the Raptors at times, and not disappear altogether as well, then his value would be much more solidified.

Read what he says CARLOS DELFINO
For him it's a really different way of living and at the end of the season he was just starting to get used to the country. Altough he has a family and Russia doesn't have what an argentinian wants for his kid

Nice Great video!

Carlos Delfino, when he's on is very fun to watch he has some intesity and confidence in his ability. He is streaky, but imo he's a better option at SG the AP. I'm looking forward to his return.

I think he'll enjoy playing w/Marion (if he re-signs)

Yeah, definitely true

It may be a crooked, corrupt, crime-riddled land, but it has a lot of beauty.

Rodstriker - I like your analysis of Delfino. It definitely seems like you've been watching him enough and have a pretty solid idea of the game he can bring. I hope you're right because if so I think he can be an excellent compliment to Marion on the wing...
