Raptors exercise options on Derozan, JJ, Davis

Quote:

The club announced Friday it picked up the fourth year options for DeRozan and Johnson, and the third year for Davis, which guarantees all contracts through the 2012-13 season.

The Raptors had until Oct. 31 to exercise their option on the three players.

DeRozan is in his third season with Toronto and has averaged 13.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 28.4 minutes over that span. He was the only Raptor to start all 82 games last year.

Johnson joined the Raptors on Feb. 22 from Chicago for a 2011 first-round draft pick. He averaged 9.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 25 games with Toronto.

Davis averaged 7.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 24.6 minutes in 65 appearances last season. He ranked first in the NBA among rookies in field goal percentage at .576.

Oh right, It's for the 2012-13.

2nd rounders only have a 2-yr contract?

All rookies contracts only have two guaranteed yrs i believe. Derozan has played two seasons and they just picked up his third season option. What i don't understand is that Davis just finished his rookie year and they already had an option to exercise? :confused2:

I guess teams must exercise the 3rd year at the after the 1st year, and the 4th year after the 2nd.

It would be DeRozan's fourth year in 2012-13.

From reading that article it sounds like they're picking up the options for the year after next.

So they're picking up Derozan 4th year option and Davis 3rd year option. That is why they had till Oct 31. This is for the 2012-2013 NBA season(not this year of NBA if there is a season).

And it was a no doubter.
