In 2008 Minnesota traded their #3 pick(OJ Mayo) & more to Memphis for their #5 pick(Kevin Love) & more.

Closest thing to a trade down.

A actual trade down before the pick. 2005 NBA draft. Utah traded the #6, #27, and a 2006 first rounder to Portland for the #3 pick. Utah selected Deron Williams with the #3 pick.

The only reason that happened was because the GM of Minnesota wanted Kevin Love, but he also wanted more assets.. so it was logical to draft Mayo and trade him for Love and some other good players.

Well yeah.

Which could happen with the Raptors if they get the #3 pick and say they like Kemba or Knight and another team like another player who won't be there when they pick.

That isn't going to happen because there is no lock on a #3 pick. The only locks are #1 and #2 which are Irving and Williams, the rest is a tossup. When Mayo got drafted at 3 he was a definite lock at 3, there is no definite lock at 3 for this draft so that will eliminate any kind of down-trading.

True but say there are reports that team #4 and team #5 both really like Kanter and want him then team #5 could trade up. Not saying it is likely at all but never know.

As the days go on until draft day I don't really have a clue who to draft or rather what to do with the pick (trading up or down)

For a PG I would pick either Irving, Knight, or Walker
SF: Williams
Big Man: Kanter

Brigham Young University star Jimmer Fredette signed a deal with New York-based production company Tupelo-Honey Productions to chronicle his life in the days leading up to the NBA draft, June 23 in Newark.

Fredette committed to allow Tupelo-Honey to shoot more than 100 hours of footage over 30 days. The New York-based production company plans to sell online and mobile vignettes and packaged 30-minute TV shows.

No programming has been sold yet, but Tupelo-Honey President Cary Glotzer said he’s already been having discussions and plans to sell footage to several outlets.

Glotzer plans to produce daily two- to four-minute webisodes, a daily video blog and weekly recap features. After the 30 days, Tupelo-Honey will produce a long-form documentary for a TV channel or theatrical release.

He also plans to sell sponsorship around the video content, and said some brands already are showing interest. Glotzer said he could make some video clips available for sponsors’ websites.

Glotzer said he was drawn to Fredette this season when his company produced Mountain West basketball games for Versus.

“I was there when he dropped 52 points on New Mexico,” Glotzer said. “At that time, I said, ‘We have to do something special with this kid.’”

Glotzer asked Dave Checketts, chairman of SCP Worldwide (which has a controlling interest in Tupelo-Honey), to contact Fredette’s dad. Checketts and Fredette’s father know each other from Salt Lake City.

Two and a half weeks later, the two reached an agreement that gives Fredette a participation fee. Company officials would not say how much Fredette is getting paid.

I guess self indulgence isn't frowned upon in Mormonism. Or maybe it is, just not when there is money involved.

I'd laugh my nuts off if he dropped like a stone in the draft.

It's quite possible, however it was also depend on his workouts against Kemba Walker and Brandon Knight. If I was Jimmer, I would avoid any workouts against both players, Kemba and Brandon would torch him. According to Chad Ford OF ESPN, he has Jimmer at No.12 with Utah or No.13 with Phoenix. He says if both teams pass on him, he can be in for a big slide.

i know he can't play defence on Walker or Irving, but hey man, don't kid yourself, those guys don't have a chance stopping him either.

Jimmer is an enigma.

Could the Raps be looking at Bayless for the future. They do need an upgrade for small forward, and maybe they are looking at Williams:

Evan (Toronto)
You now have Raptors drafting Derrick Williams #1. Is this from what you're hearing from their Front Office?

Chad Ford-ESPN (1:54 PM)
The Mock Draft is based on sourcing inside teams. However, it's very early in the process. I think they could go either way, but I believe they are leaning toward Williams ... yes.

Another tidbit from Chad Ford regarding the potential big man from the draft:

"Kanter is the most NBA ready I think. Very skilled. But lacks size and elite athleticism. Valanciunas is a major talent. But he's a bit further away and I think a potential buyout issue could keep him out of the NBA a few years like Ricky Rubio. Bismack has the most upside of the group -- but he's also the furtherest away."

I'd beg to differ. Irving and Walker are good on ball defenders. If Jimmer were going up against these guys one on one he'd get his pocket picked 10 times out of 10.

haha Is that why Jimmer was leading the nation in scoring? because he was getting his pocket picked every time he brought the ball up the court?
