Your tireless efforts of correcting us all are very much appreciated.

I surely do not jest.

I speak for everyone that shares my view when I say it is great to not have to look up that stuff ourselves. Unfortunately I speak only for myself.

Most recent reports have Fields signing at 3 years, 18.7 M. I'll update the numbers soon - effectively, we save about 100,000 cap space. Nothing big.

Default John Lucas III signed

Jose Calderon $10,561,982
Andrea Bargnani $10,000,000

Amir Johnson $6,050,000

DeMar DeRozan $3,344,250
Terrence Ross $2,563,320 (120% of rookie scale)
Ed Davis $2,207,040
John Lucas III $1,500,000
Quincy Acy $473,604
Alan Anderson $473,604
Aaron Gray $2,575,000 (via Room MLE)

Total: $57,131,773 - 0.9M cap space
Total after Gray: $59,706,773 - 1.7M cap defecit

Salary Cap: $58.044 million
Tax Threshold: $70.307 million

As a note, to sign Lucas III, the JJ TPE has certainly been renounced. So the team now has no cap holds or TPE of any kind, and will be out of cap space after Gray is signed to the Room MLE.

PS - as a note, Lucas III's second year is a team option, so there's the flexibility of the one year vet deals BC signed so many of last year, and the surety of being able to bring him back cheap if need be.

Default All signings done

Assuming Anderson signing is imminent - but now we know he is definitely signing for the minimum...

Jose Calderon $10,561,982
Andrea Bargnani $10,000,000
Landry Fields: $6,233,333 (assumed 18.7M total)
Amir Johnson $6,050,000
Kyle Lowry $5,750,000
Linas Kleiza $4,600,000
Jonas Valanciunas: $3,374,640 (120% of rookie scale)
DeMar DeRozan $3,344,250
Aaron Gray $2,575,000
Terrence Ross $2,563,320 (120% of rookie scale)
Ed Davis $2,207,040
John Lucas III $1,500,000
Alan Anderson $854,389 ($885,120 actual salary)
Quincy Acy $473,604

Total: $60,087,558 - 2.0M cap deficit

Salary Cap: $58.044 million
Tax Threshold: $70.307 million

With Gray and Lucas officially signed, and Anderson about to be, the salary picture is no longer an "if" scenario. The Room MLE has been used, the cap space has been used, and the team salary is pretty much set.

Now the only updates to be done will be when Sham updates his salaries (should be in the next few days, as he has started).

As a note, I've had Alan Anderson listed as the rookie minimum salary up until now, as that was the effective "cap hold" on his spot until he was signed, if the team planned to use cap room. Now that he is (about to be) signed, I've updated to his actual salary. Also note that only the 2 year vet minimum counts against the cap, even though he is earning a 3 year vet minimum salary.

Isn't Acy's salary going to be $665,000?

Ah, yes, you are right. I don't usually trust Hoopsworld independently but Sham confirmed it on RealGM, so I'll update.

I'd assumed they were signing him to a minimum contract - but BC pulled this stunt before with Alabi, so I should know better.

ETA: Heck I think I even made a comment along these lines when I first slotted him in there! Man.

I didn't think that this deserved its own thread, but nbadraft.net did their "State of the Cap: Toronto Raptors"... and they say we still have some cap room. Did they miss a signing?

State of the Cap: Toronto Raptors | NBADraft.net

Also, they gave us an A-

Quote:
2012/13 Payroll: $53.2 million
2012/13 (Projected) NBA Salary Cap: $58 million
Roughly: $4.8 million under cap
Quote:
Highlights: Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo has arguably the hardest job in the league. Why? Well, because nobody wants to play for his team. Which makes the work he’s done over the past couple seasons – after understandably overpaying the likes of Hedo Turkoglu, given, as previously noted, that nobody really wants to play in Toronto – all the more impressive, assembling a team that could very well contend for a playoff birth this year while boasting considerable potential should the pieces congeal as hoped.
Quote:
The Future: Though it’s taken Colangelo longer than expected, he’s finally assembled a core of talented youngsters who play both ends and project to complement each other well. Lowry will bring a much-needed change of pace at the point guard position while DeRozan, Fields and Ross promise solid production on the wing with the potential to produce big time in the future.

That still means they missed something. We are currently a few million over the cap with Gray signed. They are probably not including our rookies' salaries.

Probably Acy's contract? They do mention Ross.
