Raptors & Bulls Talk Trade

A trade that has been discussed involved Nocioni and Larry Hughes going to Toronto with O’neal coming to the Chicago. The Raptors, however, are trying to come up with different variations of deals that would bring Nocioni and Drew Gooden to Toronto. Another deal the teams discussed involved Nocioni, Gooden and Tyus Thomas to Toronto for O’neal and a filler, but the Bulls felt they would be giving up too much. Look for the talks between Toronto and Chicago to heat up the closer we get to the trading deadline, a deal very likely could go down.

Ty Thomas? Well, maybe he just needs a change of scenery, but that dude is a knucklehead.

I'd love to see Nocioni here...he was my choice when we signed Kapono and I stick by that

Please, please, please, not Gooden. Would he at least be an expiring contract? I'm just having fits thinking about that possibility, and I don't think even getting Nocioni would make it worth it.

TT I could easily handle. He at least has a motor, and the Raptors need a guy with a good motor.

Hughes Nocioni and a contract worth 1-2 million
for JO and Moon would be a fair trade for both teams
but we should really begin evaluating kapono after the trade and see if hes worth keeping
because hes taking up 6.5 million for 2010 and so will nocioni, a combined amount of 13 million...9+18+13=40 million and other players to resign, so much for wade or whomever we plan on getting in 010
our lineup..
Calderon/Solomon/Ukic/Hughes
Parker/Hughes/Kapono
Nocioni/Graham/Kapono
Bosh/Humphries/Voshkul/Jawai
Bargnani/Humphries/Voshkul/Jawai
need depth?
hughes of the bench...hows that for depth?

gooden would be an expiring. i'm not too sure about noci myself. he has an extremely long contract that runs until 2013(team option) when he'll be 33-34 years old. he hasn't exactly getting better with age to begin with. on the plus side, he has low trade value, so getting someone like thomas, noah, or maybe even a protected first could come our way. while neither thomas or noah impress me, i'd rather have noah at this point. we've seen that he has skills unlike thomas.

nocioni came to the NBA when he was 26 not as much mileage as the average 30 year old player would have and im guessing the Bulls want to keep Gooden for a Duo involving JO and Drew inside...
but either trade is good
for the future getting Gooden over NOci would be beneficial
but as for now.. Noci
w/e I like em both, as long as we get hughes and get rid of JO

The more I think about it a trade involving Noccioni should also involve Kapono-bad contract for bad contract.

Gooden, Hughes and Noccioni

for

Kapono and JO

Kaps would have that drive and kick guard to feed off of in Rose and Chi gets that low post player.

We get a roubounder off the bench, wing defense and toughness as well as expirings this year and next.

I agree with Snooch, thats why i mentioned that the Raptors should really start evaluating Kapono's value to the team after this trade... and look for a salary saving deal that may involve a pick. I think involving Kapono in the deal would complicate things and im not so sure that the Bulls are interested in Kapono.
Its not that Kapono is untradeable, he will always have value in this league because of his playoff experience and shooting abilities. So we shouldnt rush to trade him. Mideaswell make a run this year and look for a deal in the off season.

Yea I've been on this as a likely/good trade

Hughes is important because it still gives us a 13 mil expiring next year, which is the JO incentive. So we get Nocioni (and Gray?) for nothing pretty much.

whats your problem with Gooden, LX?
the guy gets paid 7 million (which is pretty cheap) and gives you 9 boards a night.
have him coming off the bench for us and we're looking a lot better in the reboundng dept.

i'd actually like this trade if it involved gooden.
if anything i'd pass on Tyrus Thomas.... that no skilled moron would cause us fans more fits than we could ever imagine.

I don't think we get Gooden... Chicago needs his expiring to resign Gordon. They need to dump Nocioni or Hinrich if they make a move like this, for 2010 purposes.

I've convinced right now BC is salivating at trading JO because he wants Bargs to be the permanent starter THAT BAD, he loves him that much. I'm 50% sure JO will never play another game for the Raptors

His playoff experience? You mean the 4 games he played with Miami when they were blowing ppl out or getting blown out?
