Raptors big 3

How do you think the big 3 combination of Bargs/Bosh/Turkoglu up front has looked so far? Are they exceeding your expectations going into the season or were you expecting this to pretty much be the norm with this combo?

The overall defence of this team leaves something to be desired, but i think we'll improve that in the coming weeks. But these three playing together and at times with the bench (Wright, Jack, Beli) has got me really excited to see what they can do on offence once they really get going, which seemingly is starting to happen.

Bosh- 29.5ppg/13rpg

Bargs- 22ppg/6.8rpg

Turkoglu- 15.3ppg/3.5apg/4.3rpg

= Combining for 66.8ppg/24.1rpg

I have a feeling that Bargnani won't shoot over 60% from 3s for the rest of the season, and Bosh won't go to the line 20 times a game ...
let's review this a month into the season, when players revert to their mean.
I think Bargnani will slide towards 18+ and Bosh towards 23+, so the total will only be around 57-58ppg.

I wish I'll be wrong, but history is on my side on this one ...

that's an accurate assesment.

the thing that has me excited is when Turkoglu becomes totally familiar with his teammates then having him here will really pay off. I like everything i see from him now, but in at the halfway point of the season, look out.

I'm starting to see the great advantage of Bargs...really who can guard this guy when he is hitting shots? Name one guy in the league at his position. He also has really stepped up on defense. I think the bigs get exposed to much due to back court issues so look look worse then they are. I really like this team and think they have the chance to win every night.

On offence this is about what i expected..maybe a little less from AB and a little more from Turk, but close. We need them to start games together as a unit with more intesity and tighten up the defence as the season goes on though.

I loved the pick and roll Turkoglu ran with Bosh against Detroit the other night where Bosh rolled right down the lane, recieved the sweet bounce pass from Hedo and jammed it. I really hope to see more of that because frankly, that's what Hedo was brought here to do and we haven't seen enough of it yet.

It seems like there's a little more chemistry between Bosh and Turkoglu than Bargnani and Turkoglu at this point. The Turkoglu/Bosh pick and roll has been cash money so far and I'm loving Turkoglu's jumper off the screen, so smooth. Agree with Dann, would like to see more of it, there haven't been any indications that it can be stopped by anyone yet.

I absolutely agree, though not enough do... not even the Oak tree. But Bargs can dominate as a big option throughout the game, but then hedo can be the guy to end droughts... Bosh should get his, but shouldn not in clutch and after Bargs opens it up for him

Totally Agreed. Bargnani can flat out score. Only if he can obtain offensive board and other dirty work.

Well you can't have it all i guess

Ya that was a career high and amazingly he got 2 on the offensive.

I dunno my take is if he can average 7 to 8 boards per game it would be satisfying

That's so because he's playing for Raptors, not with at least 3 scorers.Look at Okur's statistics and think again...And y the way he's in All-Star because of his scoring ability.

The whole Raptors team is full of scorers. I think Windex is basing his argument on ability rather than stats and all star games.

Also, I'm pretty sure if Bargs had okurs opportunities he would light it up in Utah as well. Bargs is just starting his career as well.

I could see Bargs sticking around ~20ppg as long as his minutes are in the 33-38 range. It's the rebounds I'm concerned about; I hope that 12 rebound game is a sign of things to come, not an anomaly like it appears to be right now. If he can average 20/8 or 20/9 for the season, I'd be very happy!

20/9 isn't gonna happen. The most realistic numbers would be 20/7 and i'd be thrilled with that.

It's the same as the rest of the team - they are playing great on offence and need to improve defensively in a hurry.

WOW. That is a lot of points. I think as the season those numbers will go down but as long as they look out for each other and find each other I'll be happy I still think the whole team can improve to play cohesive basketball. Knowing where will everyone will be. Cna' twait for that
