Default Raptors adding another pick?

Quote:
For just the second time in 16 NBA drafts, the Raptors might be making a pair of first-round selections.

That is certainly the impression the team is creating after two days of draft workouts.

Instead of sticking to some of the more widely known names eligible for the June 24 draft, the Raptors are bringing in just about anybody they can get to agree to come

Very interesting. So the 13th pick wont be used as trade material? Its not a dumb idea, since the upcoming draft is so strong....

it is a good idea. They may also be looking higher up the order in case a trade for Bosh or Hedo includes an incoming 2010 pick.

I see the Clippers trading their pick away. I'd love to see us move up to 8 and snag Ekpe Udoh or even Johnson if he falls.

Minnesota will trade at least two of their 6 picks, and the Grizz will likely deal at least one of their 3 first round picks.I still can't believe Minnesota has 3 firsts and 3 seconds...

I think Minnesota is still in a rebuiling mode. They wont trade their picks away, especially with this upcoming draft. Imagine 3 firstrounders with Flynn, Love and Jefferson o.O

Holy shit!

And they've Jefferson or Love as trade material...nope they'll use the firstrounders.

They have six picks. No way do they keep them all. Maybe their highest 2, but after that their picks are up for grabs imo.

Its for sure, that Love and Jefferson cant exist at the same time on the court.
They need a decent SF and a strong SG, and a C. Jefferon or Love both r undersized at the 5 and u cant bench one of those guys. Maybe they'll trade their second Picks in a package for a decent role play guy idk.

Ekpe Udoh, Whiteside, and Orton had a workout in Indiana, and Udoh was the most impressive player. Apparently Indiana & Detroit want the kid. Unlike Charlie V. & Bargnani, the kid has a non-stop motor:

"Speaking of the No. 10 pick, Baylor's Ekpe Udoh looked pretty impressive during his workout Tuesday. He's definitely a high-energy player that doesn't stop playing until the whistle is blown.

Udoh, who have averaged 13.9 points and 9.8 rebounds last season, has been projected by some mock drafts as the player the Pacers will select at No. 10.

Hassan Whiteside and Daniel Orton did a good job swatting away shots in the paint."

Nice. Udoh is a really exciting idea when I think about what he could bring to this team. Long, athletic, strong, skilled, works hard on the floor. IMO if we could steal Udoh we'd be able to renounce Amir and use that money elsewhere.

First off, if Bosh is gone you'll more then Udoh & Bargs. Second, if we renounce Amir we lose his bird rights allowing us to go over the cap to sign him, therefore leaving us with little room to get someone else.Third, why renounce Amir who was one of our better players (22yrs old) to replace him with someone who may or may not pan out?

I'd take Orton. The kid is big, wouldn't get bullied in the paint and he'd be able to step in right away and help defensively. The offensive game will come in time.

The other guy I really like in the draft is Fresno's Paul George. He's long, can defend pretty well and can shoot the lights out.

If we put Bosh in a sign and trade chances are another big man is coming back, so depth isn't a huge issue. I see Amir asking for $5.5 mil+, and anything more than $4 mil is overpaying for him. If you can get a guy like Udoh who will bring essentially the same things Amir does for half the price, why not?

I still like Ed Davis if he falls to #13 for Toronto.

yup, he would be a solid pick at 13 if no bigger names slip.

henry and george are two great selections that very well might slip, kind of routing for one of those two but well see who slips at come draft time. There's gonna be talent at that pick
