I'd really like to know, from the posters who have watched a good amount of the Raps summer league so far, what the difference, if any, in Davis' game has been? Hes put up some nice numbers, but has he shown any improvements in his strength, footwork, shots around the rim, jumper etc? Or does he look the same and putting up these numbers based on talent and experience?

We can only just wait and see i guess.

His shot is better. It's more in front of his face, rather than to the side.

Rebounding and defense still his strength. Post game needs work. Seemed to have a little trouble controlling the ball in the post from what I've seen, a little indecisive.

Ed looks a little bigger to me. He still doesn't look natural offensively in any way to me

Thoughts on some SL prospects

MKG - Looked like a stud in his 1 G. Seems like he has an absolutely ELITE first step and his crafty handling the ball, seeing angles, etc.

Beal, Barnes, Ross - All have done enough to make themselves look like future starters but not all-stars. Good athletes. The shooting of all 3 is overrated. They have a chance to become elite shooters but right now the consistency isn't there.

Waiters - Better than he's being given credit for IMO. His J hasn't done sh*t but his feel for driving the basketball and court awareness is Harden-esque. Obviously with his size becoming a good shooter is absolutely essential to this guy

Thomas Robinson - He's the guy who's looked like sh*t to me. He looks totally unnatural offensively. All energy, no feel/pace to his game, IMO. Also seems like he believes he's a perimeter player.

Damian Lillard - Looks like a talented scorer and finisher. He isn't proving to me he's a PG at all though. It's an uphill climb for any < 6'3 SG, a few can do it to be impact players but not a lot

Meyers Leonard - Has been a mix of great and bad defensively, with not showing much offense but partly due to no plays being run for him.

Houston - highlight of SL so far. Lamb, Motiejunas, White, Machado all have fantastic feel for the game/court so they're playing a more beautiful brand of basketball together than the rest of these pickup games. Lamb looks like the most effortless scorer in years. Motiejunas is a rare big with skill and comfort with the ball but his lack of physical strength will hurt in the NBA + he's an overrated shooter. White's problem is he might be one of the most pass first players in the league this year at any position, he seems genuinely scared of taking FGAs instead of getting assists, because he doesn't have the size to finish at the rim consistently or a jumpshot. Machado should've gone 1st round and is a better PG prospect Kendall Marshall, he's small but much better dribble driving the ball than Kendall and has a jumpshot, plus is even a step above as a passer. Zubcic over Machado was a joke. Finally I've been really impressed by Terrence Jones, he has more skill and feel to his game than I thought and plays hard/aggressively. His size will still be a concern at PF but I think he'll do things in the NBA

I watched a few of Robinsons games in college and seen a lot of his highlights, what the hell happened to his game? In college he looked like a beast inside and played with a ton of energy on both sides of the ball, then I watch his first SL game vs CHA and he tries to prove hes a SF and doesnt attack the rim or the boards. I wonder if the Kings are experimenting or Robinson is just trying to prove something to people about his perimeter game. Either way it doesnt bode well for him or the Kings.

MKG was the most impressive of players I caught a glimpse of.

Lillard is going to be a really good PG. I dont think you can judge his passing ability in SL when he's creating for scrubs who cant hit anything.

Beals passing ability and feel for the game I think was underrated by everyone. He looked really good in the pick and rolls vs HOU getting his teammates looks.

And Lamb looks effortless, but theres something about the way he plays that just screams that hes going to hold himself back. Hes looked good defensively though.

I'm not convinced any of Motiejunas, White and Jones will ever be legit starters in the NBA. They all have huge faults in their game that they may never overcome. And they all play the same position essentially so it's going to be interesting to see what HOU does this offseason, and if they do keep them all, who gets the minutes.

Kyle Lowry in Nevada for the summer league today watching Raptors/Kings game:

- Excited about young team. talked about Ross and his shooting. Davis and his defense. Demar and his top 10 plays. Mention Bargnani and Jonas coming over also.

Question about what Casey has talked to him about:
- Been talking defense the whole time with Casey since getting here. Talked about what Casey did with the defense last year in Toronto and with Dallas.

- Excited for the team. Excited for the franchise. We're going to be good. We're going to surprise a lot of team.

Question about how he is feeling:
- Feels good. Had surgery in May. Feels good and ready to go. Then said he Feels great. haha

- Talked about Fields. Said he can play offense also with his defense. Didn't get much attention last year cause of Knicks team with Melo, Lin, Amare and others. New situation now and will get to show what he can do on offense and defense. The real basketball eyes see the little things he does. Going to be a good one for us.

Question about Ed Davis in the summer league so far:
- Been playing really well and said he is still young and growing. Talked about how it takes a few years to get a feel for the NBA and Davis is starting to do that.

Interview with Lowry right now...

Announcer -Gonna call Val "Big Valley"
Kyle -I know his first name now, I'll just call him that

-young exciting team
-rattling off lots of players' names - "scouting them on youtube"
-gonna be a pretty tough team

-Lowry and Casey have been talking Announcer -"About defense?" "About Defense the whole time"

-Defensive stats are a testament to Casey and his "system"

-Really excited to be there, for the team, the organization, it's gonna be good, we're gonna surprise a lot of teams this year

-Sports hernia surgery. Excited to work with Alex McHecknie (sp?)

-Landry Fields - He can play. Dynamics of the team didn't give Fields a lot of pub.
(Man Kevin Colabro (sp) knows LOTS about the NBA

Other announcer gushing over Landry - does all of the little things - reminds him of Battier

-Ed Davis - changing his shot - averaging 19 points.
Lowry - He's playing really well, he's still young, and still growing. Going to take a while to get acclimated to the game... speed, etc.

See other games?
Lowry - yeah, watch a lot of games, and see the guys that are trying to make the league.

Good things in store for the fans of Toronto (Thanks again Kevin Colabro)

Ross is playing well. Just came off a screen and hit a deep 2 with a hand in his face. Announcer "Ross hitting a NBA shot".

8pts(3-6) 2reb in 11MIN of play so far.

I actually thought the absolute opposite. Lamb has that "I don't give a fuck, I'm a just keep coming at you" look. Its an icy look that should have other teams worried. he reminds me of the poor kid that never had cool shoes, or a good ball, or friends, but who was there everyday, getting up shots and practicing. When you would play, he'd kill people and they would steal diss him and he didnt give a fuck. I knew a guy like that, he ended up starting in University.
