but im a little upset at the stat sheet 21/3 thats derozan like numbers...
Stats don't matter in summer league. I think how a player looks, moves, and reacts vs bigger players and a faster NBA type game is what matters. And from what I've heard in this thread, Ross looked pretty good. Looking forward to seeing his game recap on youtube.

Official reason: he couldn't play without an insurance, because you can't isnure a contract which isn't signed yet. (Same situation as Jonas, Donatas could' ve easily played if he wanted)

Real reason: he wanted to be sure that he will get big minutes and coach didn't even gave him a guaranteed spot in the roster, so he decided to better prepare for the next NBA season and show Rockets management what he can bring to the table.

Now he is probably the most hated player in Lithuania, but personally I fully support him.

he was as advertised, good shooter, good athlete, poor shot creator. He's not going to be able to play SF this year, that was clear. He did chuck a bit, but that was because he doesn't have that many options when he gets the ball, either he shoots or he passes it back.

He clearly needs a good PG, now I understand why everybody was saying he would be a better pick with Nash. Not sure lowry is the right PG for someone like ross though as (from what I've read) he's not a great drive drive and kick type of a PG. If we play like we did last year (slower pace), he'll struggle.

The other thing that I took from this game is that it's unlikely he'll have a major impact this season, I don't see him starting and may not get more than 18-20 minutes backing up demar.

Very fair assessment of Ross ... He doesn't have the ability to create his own shoot when having to dribble .. Catch and shoot guy. I was hoping he had some.
Looks like our half court offense will continue to be challenged. We better run and gun.

Lowry improved A LOT in the pick and roll game last year. The Rockets were in the upper echelon of the league if I remember right before he got injured in 3 pt makes per game. He ran the pick and roll really well with Scola, and he got his shooters open in the corner a ton this year. His improvement year to year in the halfcourt with not only his decision making but his shooting has been extremely impressive. I think he'll get Ross and others plenty of looks this year since I think the majority of the offence will be run through him on screen roll.

i actually think given some descent minutes and a good PG alabi could be a good C on a solid team. He has the will to improve and always tries his hardest. Not to mention he is a rebounding machine so yeah alabi over orton.

I was happy with T ross, bar a few questionable shots he was pretty solid. Acy was okay but not as advertised. Impressed with the team to a point but really need to improve and ed needs to take more authority. He is supposed to be the most experienced guy on the court and he went out got fouled and couldnt grasp authority the rest of the game other than a few flukey JS.

Cant wait till the sunday game

that would be fantastic for us, because the potential for a deadly P&R with Bargnani and JV is quite high. I haven't really watched Lowry, so I'm just basing my remarks on hearsay (from legitimate espn sources though). But the rockets were a middling team and few people paid that much attention to them, even among the paid journalists ...

It's going to be tough for casey though, I just don't see us being able to start lowry/ross/demar, it's too small of a lineup and only lowry is at least strong among the 3. On the other hand, without lowry, you can only have one shooter on the floor in landry and that's assuming he's the 40%+ guy from his rookie year ... Maybe Demar comes back with much improved shooting, otherwise it will be tough to get the offense to really roll.

You left out the obvious choice- neither. Orton sucked HUGE and Solomon has fumble fingers.
