havent been this excited since game 7 vs. philadelphia.

I almost pissed my pants i was so nervous before that game lol...

Raptor's are deep this year.. and an injury or two won't have us starting solomon/AP/moon... so we'll be good. I'm actually surprised we even won 30+ games last season with that squad.

Third option players for 10 M a year? BC must be out of his mind!

BTW, third option players are not given the ball in the dying minutes of playoff games IMHO.

this is so incredibly toronto. a team is terrible one year, with few prospects and a bleak looking off-season. the gm pulls about 5 rabbits out of his hat and clearly makes the team deeper and stronger, and addresses most, if not all, of the problem areas... yet the fans are complaining that it isn't good enough, we didn't land a kobe-type player and that our existing players haven't magically transformed into defensive stalwarts and all-stars. maybe it's the fact that i grew up longing only for the chance to watch some games in my home city, but i have reasonable expectations of what is achievable. this off season makes me happy. even if the team isn't perfect, how is any of this transformation a reason to feel negative about the team? don't you guys ever get tired of being depressed?

shard, the second option on orlando was making more 90%+ of the league.

10 million for a third option isn't bad at all, especially when they other things to offer aside from scoring.

Well somebody missed the point. I said I was excited, but its tempered, when I thought about the last time I was this excited about a raptor season. I love whats been done...and I remember the last time I loved what was done.

I think this team is going to play more like the Suns used to now. Not really any first second or third option. I think we are going to end up with 3 or 4 15+ppg scorers on the starting lineup.

I seriously think we are a legit 50 win team this season. If everything falls into place(i.e. team chemistry) then we are set.

i'm not talking 2nd option in terms of points. i'm talking 2nd option in terms of capabilities. for the most part, our team still looks like it's going to rely on the space that Bosh creates for them. hedo and Bargs could easily be the exception to this, but neither are really all that proven in that regard.

Perhaps on a typical selfishly operated NBA team sure.

That said, I'm pretty sure that in a balanced team game with great movement, there are 7 guys on this team that can consistantly finish.

ALL that said, I'm no more excited than Jackson.

There are as many unknowns as knowns.

Toronto could be top three, or bottom two.

Ya never know.

i love the balance this team offers on offense... defense is the unknown, and with Marc I around, this team will have a solid scheme and with 3 6' 10" + on the front line, we will be tough to match up with most nights...

I've been negative all last season, and the one before last, actually, 'cause I clearly disliked the team and despised the head coach. But even then I didn't think our GM was all that bad and patiently waited for him to carpe some diem for a change...

Well, he did, and I am excited for the first time in about 5 seasons. My concerns are rebounding and defence since I don't think for a second that this lineup is going to have problems scoring the ball, no matter who is which option on that end of the floor. I am worried if Triano is the right coach for this group, but with Iavaroni to help him and considering his extensive international experience (the chief reason he is now involved with Team USA), I hope he is going to do a good job.

And something else to keep in mind: by getting Turk, Wright, Beli and Jack, BC has set us up with enough talent going forward to either convince Bosh to stay or to handle his departure with minimal damage to the team. And that, my friends, is where my hat is off to Colangelo. Take Bron out of Cleveland - and you can pretty much close the shop. Take Bosh out of this lineup (and I am not saying we should let him walk either) - and we still look good and competitive and promising and... yes... exciting.

i think we can have a more pleasant excitement than this one in the future. if we don't make the Finals, i'm sure something better will come our way if we're patient for it.

After all of these trades the only possible way this team won't workout is chemistry. But then look at the players.

Bosh, Bargs, Jose, Rasho all know each other pretty well. Bargs and Belenelli know each other. Bosh and Jack know each other. Hedo seems like a guy that can mesh well. Wright, DeRozan and Evans I'm sure will fit in. and I'm not even going to bring up Douby, O'Bryant, Ukic, or Banks.

I think this season will be amazing and fun to watch!

I'm as optimistic and pumped about this coming season as I've ever been about a Raptors team.
Sure, the possibility exists that this chemistry experiment will blow up in our faces, but damn it's been fun watch BC throw it together.

Short of acquiring a couple Hall-of-Famers, Colangelo has done a great job re-tooling the roster.
Now it's up to the players and coaches to make it work and win the games.

How quickly we all forget about the Pistons who were a very balanced team. They didn't have a typical first, second or third option. On any given night the points were distributed differently. It's all about the "team", and how the coaches and players can properly mesh the assets they have! Weren't the pistons successful at that?...hmm I forget!
