Default Raps winning because of Iavaroni?

The Raps are 4-0 or 4-1 since Iavaroni visited the team
is he still working with the coaching staff?

I know a healthy Caldy and somewhat weak opposition has attributed to this 4 game winning streak

Recently the team has been:
moving the ball
taking advantage of mismatches on defense and offense

The Italian coaching trio next year

-------Messina---------
----Iavaroni--Triano----

????

I think they've stopped wasting what Marion brings to the team, and Iavaroni might have pointed that out.

They are coming off of screens very well... and moving away from the ball..

Also that misdirection play to marion for the alley-oop where he slips the screen ALWAYS works ... well atleast once during the game.

the new offence is so much less stagnant and so much more fun to watch

I'll give you Oklahoma, but Chicago? Also, Millwuakee had a lot more riding on that game than we did. Can't remember who win no.1 of the streak was againt.

They're still bad teams with losing records regardless of what they're playing for. I'm as happy as the next guy we're actually playing some better basketball of late, showing some reasons to be interested(not enough to be excited) in next season, but really we're playing bad teams that are bad for a reason..and in cases like yesterday barely escaping with a win. Giving up 42 4th quarter points? What the hell is that??

I remember Charles Oakley once saying after we beat Boston, that if we want to be serious contenders, a serious team, we have to beat the latter portion teams.

OKC we should've beat in December but we didn't. The Clippers packed it in on Day 2 of the season. Milwaukee is really handicapped and had beaten us twice this season. And Chicago came BACK from what 14 down in the 4th quarter? They scored I believe 42 points in the 4th quarter.

Yeah, I'm happy we won, but damn, we're still a pretty mediocre to below mediocre team. This to me screams of fools gold right now, but I've been wrong before.

I just want us to be a team that goes into these types of games, knowing they're going to win and not having to go to OT by blowing a big lead, something that's plagued us all season. Right now, we're just really, really, lucky.

Yeah, we're supposed to shit stomp these teams.
It just shows how low our expectations have dropped.
At least it's fun to watch again.

oklahoma and milwaukee almost won on the road in boston/orlando this weekend, so they're playing very well lately. And we wiped the floor with them, and almost did the same againt the bulls, if not for that last quarter collapse

Remember that when Triano first came aboard we had several strong performances in a row. I think that we completely destroyed the Nets and IND back to back. And it was with great defense AND beautifully diverse offense... same as what's going on now.

Maybe Iavaroni has chimed in with some useful insights but I find it unlikely that he could just walk into practice and "magically" turn the team around with a 30 min speech.

If he was THAT good he'd still be coaching right now.

I'm all for him staying on as an assistant though. I def. think that the coaching staff needs new blood.

As for the games that we won... yes, they're crap teams but you have to look at the particulars...

vs. OKC? We all but shut down Durant which has proved to be next to impossible for any team in the NBA. We also led wire to wire and left no doubt about the outcome.

vs. LAC? They're a crap team and we showed them that they're not in our class. The Raps did what they were supposed to. Again... wire to wire.

Vs. CHI and MIL? 2 teams who are DEF. playing for something... battling for their playoff lives... those teams NEEDED those games badly and we just took it away. That says something.

The game against ORL will really show if we've turned things around... I'm esp. curious to see how our improved rebounding holds up against them.

Here's hoping for the best.

Triano looks like a triceratops. That is my contribution to this thread. No need to thank me.
