With regard to BC overpaying bench players, there's 2 that immediately come to mind:

Jason Kapono(if you seriously think he was a starting caliber player at that point you're as deluded as BC), and obviously Linas Kleiza.

So, as you said, we've never overpaid bench guys in the past 6-7 years. Yeah. Sure.
And you need to take a chill pill. :cookie:

Well, LF is obvious. His contract has to be one of the 10-20 worst contracts given out in the past 10 years when comparing his salary vs his production, but I dont want to get into that argument again with the hopefuls that think he can somehow re invent his jumpshot next year. MM wanted to talk about the past 6-7 years so I figured I'd go back in time and remind him.

We overpaid for our starting free agents, guys like Jose, Demar, Bargnani and for starting level free agents like hedu and kapono. And none of those contracts were horrible, just overpriced.
Kapono instantly comes to mind. Plus most of those contracts - Jose, DeMar, Bargnani, Hedo, Amir, were deemed to be overpaying by many analysts. I'd argue that some of the contracts weren't so bad, but we really haven't had many good/fair/market value signings in awhile.

-------

Funny unrelated story: while looking up players to reply, I discovered that in 2009-2010, the Raptors team leader in steals per game was...... Hedo Turkoglu!!! With 0.74 steals. Oh Raptors! Why do I let you trick me into caring every year!?!?

He's just extremely physical. He plays the same way he played against his brothers growing up.

If he contributed more offensively his reputation wouldn't be as negative.

I don't think kleiza was overpaid. he hit a really rough patch of injuries, starting with the injury in the preseason his first year here. he did a job, and yes sometimes tried to do too much but for 5 million and his skillset, if not so injury prone would have been worth the money. noone could have seen the injuries coming as he never had a history of injuries before tdot

Throwing a guy to the floor for no reason on a dead play is mild? Maybe if you're in the WWE. lol

There are worse as you stated, but mild it is not.

i don't know how his borderline fouling style of play is going to work on the Raptors where the refs always have it in for us, this guy is going to foul out in like 5 minutes

I like the signing. We've had a reputation as a soft team for years, and we've been talking about "getting tougher" for even longer. We're finally making moves to back up these claims. Love it.

Soft teams don't win in the NBA.

Oh and for all of you throwing Hansbro under the bus already, you should start making yourselves a nice, big plate of crow. You're going to love this guy. He brings it every night. 100%. All the time.

You'll see.

He probably does bring 100%, but if he's playing a lot chances are we're losing a lot, the fans here will probably like his hustle and hockey mentality ie Reggie Evans without that level of rebounding. I just want to see the list of free agents that sign for 3 mil or less and then I'll judge how upset I am
