Don't think so. Everyone who has met him personally seems to think he's really nice. And the Miami Heat fan base seem like they will miss him. He's never played for Team Canada, but that's pretty much the only problem people have with him.

i know he had issues with triano while he was the head coach of the national team. i don't if it's because he was bitter about being an early cut while he was younger or it was a legitimate beef between the two. i don't know the whole story, or even if the story is true, but there was a large sign pointing to jamal as a selfish person when these stories were being told.

oh, and this signing sucks. he should have been out of the league a few seasons ago. i don't think he'll offer much as a vet. i've never heard much about him being a leader or good in the locker room.

i don't expect that this signing has anything to do with his leadership abilities.

It's a shame this probably spells the end for Reggie in Toronto. I would much rather him on the roster, even as a C, than Magloire. Excellent attitude, excellent effort and excellent rebounding. All positives for a young team. Much better than an old, brooding malcontent.

It's essentially a 6 month contract. Whatever.

i'd hope he'd be able to offer us something more than just being canadian. this would have meant something ten years ago, but now he's just fighting for his nba life. it's just a shame they'd let him be the first canadian raptor after he shun the national team his whole career. this reminds me of the jay hiring. i wonder if they really think that hiring a canadian will make losing easier for us.

more like they think hiring a big man will fill a hole on the roster.

Keep in mind - Colangelo said in his press conference that he wanted to sign 2 bigs - and he already has 3 power forwards... So Magloire is not likely the only C we sign. Although I'd be happy if he was.

Probably. Doubt we bring back Ajinca at this point. Would like to get Alabi the 'prospect' minutes at C. He might be the other C signed though, so the doors not quite closed yet, but I expect the other big signing (if there is one) will be another vet C, or maybe a cheap option like Aaron Gray.

Hmmm.... seem to be some rumours going around that Dalembert might end up in HOU now.

Interesting.

They've been chasing him for a few days now. Maybe Pau makes sense there after all? If they can hold onto Martin in that CP3 trade, they could set up Martin and Pau with some good defensive pieces including Dally.

I wouldn't mind Aaron Gray. Solid, solid player.

Gee, gotta say it, after watching Raptors Today, I'm all sorts of excited to watch Magloire play. Like his attitude, and he seems to be in good shape.

Come on guys we all know the deal here. Jamal is going to try his very very hardest and be a good little boy because if he is, all the little kiddies know what an inspiration he is...

Then he can be a basketball host or panel on tv and this is how he will to try get some cred in Canadian market. That's how they positioned the deal I bet ya....
