Default Raps at practice.

I just spoke for about an hour with someone who is regularly at Raptors practices, even the closed ones.

I asked him who the leader is at practice and to say his answer shocked me would be an understatment.

Joey Graham.

Apparantly he works his ass off, and guys like Delfino etc..get pissed at him for going hard. He went on to say that if someone is slacking..Joey is all over them....and his exact words were.

"In that room, nobody and I mean nobody talks back to Joey Graham"

Who would have thought.

After looking at his arms...I now know why nobody talks back to Joey Graham.

So, what Graham's issue then? Is the fact he can perform during games a mental thing or do you blame coaching and how he's been underuntilized?

I personally think he's had enough chances to prove himself.

Oh I agree...Ive seen enough of Joey..the conversation was wierd though. Its like most sports teams have a social circle....and while Joey Blows on the court..apparantly he the social kingpin...and at practice he works his ass off....Smitch hates his game....BC likes it alot...Strange I know....

Apparantly BC see's a "Diaw" thing....just not being used right.

I for one...have seen enough.

Diaw is a 100x smarter and more savy on the court.

Joey's best play in the NBA has come at PF. If he played like Milsap, Maxiell, Evans, Chuck Hayes or any of the other effective undersized fours he'd probably be awesome.

Keep in my mind though Haffa was also a beast in prcatice.

Yep nobody is suggesting he isn't I think it is just in reference to him being a "diamond in the rough" I doubt people were saying much about Diaw in Atlanta.....but then again maybe BC is just planting some seeds to get a second rounder for Joey.

Oops.

I thought you meant a Diaw type of player, but Diaw type of situation makes sense.

This just comes down to on court intelligence. Although he may be a beast in practice, he just isn't smart enough to bring it to the court.
He looks completely lost on both sides of the ball, and there is only so much a coach can do.
