Default Raps Ottawa Training Camp Update

thrills and alseaf (I think your from Ottawa too) might be interested in Eric Smith's training camp update.

Thriller, I'll let you know if I hear anything about tickets.

Just looking at the calendar, Iím going to guess that the guy will probably be held on Saturday October 4. But remember Ö thatís just my guess!
Based on the way the end of September and beginning of October shakes out Ö I think the Raps could have their ďMedia DayĒ on Sunday the 28th and then hold camp in Ottawa from Sept. 29 - Oct. 4 or 5.

If it's held at carleton i'll be dissapointed. It makes more sense to do it at the Scotiabank Place, since i live 5 mins away

Another update Ottawians.

Not much I can tell you, at the moment, but stand by.

I’m told we should hear this week – and this being Wednesday there isn’t much left of this week – about such things as the intrasquad scrimmage that I believe is going to be the afternoon of Oct. 4 and other camp gems.

As far as I can discern right now, they’ll do a media day here in Toronto on Sept. 29, head to Ottawa that night and practice at Carleton for five days before the scrimmage brings an end to the festivities.

A word of warning, though:

If this camp is like any of the other 13 or 14 I’ve been at, there will be very little interaction between the players and fans during the workout days. Nothing will be open, and there’s not likely to be anything scheduled.

Now, if you want to run into a beat grunt or two, I’m sure there are a couple of locals that we’ll turn into locals.

The Raptors will conduct two-a-day practices at the Ravens' Nest Gymnasium at Carleton, and will wrap up camp with an intrasquad game on Oct. 4.

The Raptors will conduct two-a-day practices at the Ravens’ Nest Gymnasium on the campus of Carleton University. All practice sessions will be closed to the public. A specific practice schedule with days, times and media availability will be released later.

The team will host an open intrasquad game Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Ravens’ Nest Gymnasium. Admission information will be available in the near future.

The Raptors Basketball Development Department, in conjunction with Carleton University Men’s and Women’s Basketball, will conduct three clinics for ages 10-14 at the Ravens’ Nest Gymnasium. A co-ed clinic Thursday, October 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. will be open to the general public. There will be no fee to register for the clinic, however a waiver must be completed and brought by the participant to the clinic. Registration for the co-ed clinic may be done online by going to the Carleton University web site, http://www.carleton.ca/athletics, and clicking on the Raptors logo.
