Raps interested in Jamal Crawford

Blazers’ Jamal Crawford on the Move? | HOOPSWORLD | Basketball News & NBA Rumors

I'd want him. Exciting player, fill Barbosas gap if he was traded?

LX 03-04-2012 11:01 PM

Please no. I could live with it under the right circumstances. But that's going to mean a big makeover. If he's part of a tweak, then yuck.

js12 03-04-2012 11:03 PM

Why? We already have Barbosa.

Toby 03-04-2012 11:08 PM

Shit, we lose Crawford and we won't score over 100 for the rest of the season.

LOG 03-04-2012 11:15 PM

uhmm why the hell? :dead:

jeffb 03-04-2012 11:32 PM

Why not if he's not going to pickup his option anyway. If we trade Barbosa for an asset we could get Crawford for probably little.

Dario 03-05-2012 12:48 AM

If we get crawford we should give up barby, but I dont think crawfords gonna leave portland, hes a seattle native

Blaze 03-05-2012 01:08 AM

Jamal Crawford is one of my favourite players to watch but I'm not sure he'd be a good fit with Toronto. But honestly, I think we can make it work, we need scoring and s clutch factor and that's what he is. Imagine though we keep Barbosa and Bayless and sign him and put all three on the court at the same time. :yeah:.

Aamir 03-05-2012 01:16 AM

If we keep Barbosa and get him that's a good bench. However I don't know who Portland wants. Barbosa=Crawford, I think Crawford has a bit more value though.

Exciting guy to watch, but he doesn't fit our defensive team ball. Is a prime example of a good iso player.

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 03-05-2012 01:56 AM

Jamal Crawford and Barbosa are both solid 6th men, except Crawford is a better ballhandler, decisionmaker, passer, and with better court vision than LB, unfortunately, that also make him more expensive and harder to acquire.

he makes 5m for 1 year+ a player option for next year. it's a bargain.

And Barbosa does fit? Barbosa isn't a great defender either. Even with a 6'10 wingspan and lightning speed he can't defend well.

Chris 03-05-2012 11:00 AM

I'd rather Crawford over Barbosa so if we can get him for cheap then go ahead BC. He'd be a good scoring piece coming off the bench, however before we focus on scoring off the bench I think we should solidfy our starting lineup.

I highly doubt he will pick up his option. He's worth more than $5m per year in free agency. So, he'll be a rental for the remainder of the year, and an expiring contract, which doesn't really make much sense for the Raptors at this point.

On the other hand, I imagine that the reason why the Raptors are interested is that they think he will sign with them after the season is over. In that case, he would be Barbosa's replacement for next year.

I think that this move kind of makes sense in that light, unless you have faith in Bayless as the SG off the bench. Also, another option to replace Barbosa is to draft a SG. Because those other options are available, I wouldn't do the deal unless it was for a piece that doesn't fit in the future plans of the team (Barbosa, Gray, Magloire for example).

If, and that's a huge if, Raps are interested in Crawford, he won't come off the bench. He will start, for sure.

Superjudge 03-05-2012 01:14 PM

WTH.

We have Derozan, why do we need Crawford?

carp 03-05-2012 01:18 PM

Maybe the Bayless experiment is over.

carp 03-05-2012 01:20 PM

Jose and Bayless for Crawford and Felton?

Because Crawford is much better at pretty much everything a shooting guard is supposed to be able to do? :confused2:
