Kings Raps interested in Casspi

Quote:
A few more teams that have expressed interest in Sacramento's in-demand Omri Casspi have emerged since ESPN.com's report earlier this week that Chicago and New York are trying to convince the Kings to part with the second-year swingman. One source close to the situation said Toronto and Washington have likewise joined the Casspi chase, while Sam Amick of AOL FanHouse reports that Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers have inquired as well. As stated from the start, though, Sacramento will insist that any team takes on the contract of Beno Udrih or Francisco Garcia in any Casspi deal and could well ask for even more than that. The Kings' desire to find a new point guard to pair with Tyreke Evans is no secret among rival teams.

another scrub? did you see this guy drop daggers on us earlier in the year? This kid can ball... and he's young, long, athletic and skilled. Every team would want him.

If every team wants him, we wouldn't have enough to offer for him.

Weems is a bench player. The guy could probably do a good job of shutting himself down.

The Raptors Forum never ceases to amaze me! Omri Casspi would flourish in Toronto. He is a good shooter.....handles the ball well and rarely turns it over. He's young , doesnt cost a whole lot and tries on defense. He would be a MAJOR upgrade over Wright and Weems and will be a better player than Kleiza.

Nope don't want him on this roster!

i don't want casspi in fact, but i will something like that :
calderon + kleiza + tpe for jeter + thompson + garcia.

sac add one solid pg (caldy) + one solid backup sf/PF. + 7.6M Tpe (2.1 + 5.5)

caldy/Beno/evans
evans/taylor/head
casspi/greene/kleiza
landry/jackson/whitesde
cousins/dalembert

toronto add one young pg, one young Center (with the good size) and a veteran sg who are knowing for his teammate attitude with the young.

bayless/jeter/barbosa
DD/barbo/garcia
weems/wright/DD/peja
amir/davis/dorsey/evans
bargs/thompson/alabi

just 15, if i miss nobody.
and a better situation in frontcourt (size matter) and two young pg to run, it's a bit risky but it's transition year so you can go after another pg if we really need or we can take jeremy lin as our 3rd pg.

Thompson is a PF. He would be good if we had room for him at the 4 but we are overloaded. Jeter is D league material and Garcia is nothing special at all. Kings win this trade. TPE used for nothing, other than dumping Calderon's contract for less than average players, while Calderon's playing pretty good at the moment.

a cheap player that can shoot and they don't want him, obviously his d must be pretty bad....no thanks.....i'm tired of bringing in "shooters" that come in here and struggle with their shot for whatever reason who then become useless because they can't defend. I'd rather take one of their bigs, especially Dalembert and his expiring 12Mil. And no way in hell do i want Udrih.

His D isn't that bad.... it's not that they don't want him, they want to use him to unload somebody they don't want. Casspi is a good player.

and what if instead of thompson (who play center in sac, with 6'11) we take dalembert without the tpe part?

bayless/barbosa/jeter
DD/barbo/garcia
weems/wright/DD/Peja
Bargs/daivis/evans
dalembert/amir/dorsey

just to say, we still have peja contract, evans expiring, + dalembert + tpe + miami picks, so we can go after a legit SF and a solid pg or draft both.

i would prefer thompson, i think he can resign after his rookie contract and stay here some times. because davis i don't imagine he would stay after his rookie contract.
but dalembert for the rest of the season will be fine. not in the direction of tanking (what i don't want) but not too in the matter of stockpilling young asset for the future.

Garcia is not a SG (at least on the defensive end).... Thompson is a soft PF, who I wouldn't want taking minutes from Davis or Johnson. He's not good enough to do so. Dalembert would be a useful backup C going forward for cheap.... but not worth giving up assets for at this point.
