Arrow Raps inquired about D Will

Don't know what the Raps possibly could've offered without gutting the roster of the guys we need to keep?

Oh, yes.

Trust me (or not, I really don’t care) but, yes, the Raptors did place a call to Utah to see if Deron Williams was available in the aftermath of the Jerry Sloan departure. Just like about 24 other teams would have.

But nothing came of it, there was no suggestion that the Jazz were even serious about moving Williams (I believe they wanted to see how he’d work with new coach Ty Corbin a bit) and the Nets thing came together quickly.

Funny, cause I believe Avery Johnson stated that Deron was Plan A along with Melo and they've been working this out for awhile.

If Deron was traded here my head would've been liable to explode.

call me crazy but i think the jazz may have won this trade by a little. Devn harris is a solid point guard (not deron williams but is still an effective all around guard), derrick favors has upside. They got the nets 1st round pick which will be a lotery pick and they got golden states 1st round pick next year which will also be a lottery pick.

NJ upgraded at the PG position ( which isn't close to a debate), and all they gave up essentially was Favors and a pick in a shitty draft, obviously Harris as well but they upgraded him so to me NJ wins this by a country mile.

They gave up a high pick (likely) in a draft where if you draft top 5 you can get a pretty good player and also acquired Golden State's pick next year in a draft that is supposed to be pretty good.

Favors could become a good player and let's see what the Jazz do with Harris.

I really don't think the Nets win this trade by a 'country mile'. They gave up alot for potentially a 1 year rental.

If they only have him for 1yr, then they don't really win anything here, agreed. But overall, talent wise they won by a lot.

in my opinon, it was a bad trade for nj. altho the draft picks aren't going to pan out into anything special (weak draft next year and the golden state pick is lottery protected 1-7). Gave up too much for a rental player.

So if they go out and get a very good wing player, you don't think that He might stay? I have a feeling Prokorov will make a couple moves in the next year that will make him want to stay. He will make a player like Morrow better as well. They're not done.

He will not stay, he wants to go to either a contender or ny, I don't blame him who would want to play in a city like jersey lol, I've been to jersey and its ironic how they call it new jersey but everything looks old as fuck

Deron would've left at the first chance, so we would just be losing valuable pieces.

+1. I read this is the reason why the Jazz traded him as well, they thought he would leave.
