Raptors Raps 1 of 10 NBA teams that generates 1Mil at the gate per game

This was from a few months back but i don't think it was posted.

Quote:
#10 Toronto Raptors

Team Value $399 mil

Revenue 138 mil
Operating income 25.3 mil
Player expenses 72 mil
Gate Receipts 44 mil
Quote:
The Raptors are part of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which also owns the NHL's Maple Leafs and Air Canada Centre. The team has not qualified for the playoffs in three years and has only made five appearances since joining the NBA for the 1995-96 season. Despite the poor play on the court the Raptors continue to make money thanks to the strengthening Canadian dollar and the success of the Air Canada Centre. The Raptors are one of just 10 teams that generate more than $1 million in gate receipts per game on average.

Not surprising when you look @ the prices in tickets compared to the Leaf games.
Raps tix are far more reasonable and available because there aren't a bunch of corporate stains that are taking all of the true fans tickets away.

sure, but raps tickets are on the expensive side in terms of the rest of the league. i sat 10 rows up at the US Airways Center for $50 two years ago. i can only think of a few teams whose tickets would be anywhere near what the Raps charge.

yeah i've heard the same thing actually. one of my friends has seen a few games in Phoenix and he said the ticket prices are actually Very very reasonable.

We do have expensive tickets, but when compared to the Leafs (which, whether or not you give a shit about hockey, is the standard for sports related ticket prices in the city) they are far more affordable.

Balcony Prime tickets for the raps are around $50 a seat, those same seats for the Leaf games run you $80+... Ticket prices across the board do definitely need come down. sadly they wont.

We are under-performing. We are the fourth biggest market in North America. Its not surprising to see NY, LA, CHI at the top of the list. If the Raps generated play-off money, which would increase revenue and operating income, Raps would be much higher on the valuation list. Not to mention more and higher advertising revenue with a winning product on the floor. How many times do we have to see those stupid Primo commercials with Andrea Bargnani?
