Ranking the Eastern Conference SF

Quote:
7. Hedo Turkoglu, Toronto 16.5 PTS, 4.8 AST, 5.2 REB, .541 TS%, 14.8 PER
Some of you would probably like to see him ranked a couple of spots higher on this list you're crazy if you think he belongs ahead of Tuff Juice or The Truth whereas my first draft of this post placed him 10th. By now, you're probably aware that I'm not Hedo's biggest fan. If he's so valuable, why did the Spurs win their last two titles in the first and third years after he left San Antonio? Aside from his obvious playmaking ability, nothing really stands out about him skills-wise. Also, he dropped off fairly significantly last season after winning the Most Improved Player Award in 2007-08. If he can split the difference between his performances in his last two seasons, he's probably ranked appropriately right here.

My top 5:

1. LeBron James
2. Paul Pierce
3. Caron Butler
4. Hedo Turkoglu
5. Danny Granger

Ya defineatly that becuase he left they won they won the title. He was such a burden there that once they left it freed them for the championship glory...what a hater

Not a hater, just someone speaking the truth. Something a lot of people are afraid of.

Having Marvin Williams, a player I really like, ahead of Turko is silly.

I don't agree with Danny Granger at number 2 either.

No shit, a couple head scratchers there imo. Plus, Carefoot loves his stats and seems to be ranking them according to the Per #'s.

The only way some of you guys (most noteable Jeff) Would be happy is if Turk was ranked first, and all articles about the Raptors said we were going to finish first in the league. The truth, according to where Turk is ranked. I think 7th may be giving Turk a little to much credit, especially since talentwise he is slowly declining.

Yes, I am quite all right with Turk being ranked the 7th best SF in the East. Since Vince, we have never really had a SF who would rank in the top 10.

Duca, I don't know where you've been, but no one here is really glorifying Turk, rather, giving him his respect.

Maybe playing more within a team framework led to the so called decline in stats.

I never said anyone was glorifying him, overall some people chose to see what they want to see. Turk is good, I am not disagreeing, just not as good as some other SF's.

I was asking about the Rankings in general. Williams/Granger are too high imo. I think Hedo is 4 or 5 in the east imo. And your earlier statement about us (me mostly...thanks?) only being happy if Turk was #1 is silly. I would have put him top 5 months ago if asked. Nobody can win with these lists, because if you like someone from your team and think he should be ranked higher you're deemed a homer by guys like you that think they're the "voice of reason" and somehow know better.

5-6-7 is really interchanagable with Crash, Williams and Turkoglu.. On second thought, I probably would have put Williams 7. But Crash and Hedo are pretty even.

I was cracking a joke Jeff, an exaggeration. I figured you of all people would understand. I agree with the ranking and suddenly become a homer? I know I tend to disagree more than often about certain things, but overall I am willing to agree and admit when I am wrong. If you look at Turk for example, I tend to lean towards he is a good players, just not a great defender or rebounder. And Belinelli and Johnson, all I want people to understand is that they is basically still projects and have a lot to prove. I try not to be "negative" but this is a forum, and this is what we are here to talk about. Basketball.

Granger at #2 is ridiculous, I agree.

He's a classic chucker on a bad team getting his numbers.

He is pretty much useless in a tough game where he's getting D'd up hard.

oh, and for the record, I don't think Turk is all that great.

His value to this team is within the system.
