Raptors Props to Reggie and the physio staff

I know its pretty late to be discussing this however I would like to give props to the Raps physiotherapy staff. As you know, Reggie was out for about 2 months and lets face it, not many thought he would come back in the same great shape.
It was expected for him to gain weight and be useless until next years training camp began.
Surely enough, Reggie proved us wrong, sticking to a great diet, working out regularly (as much as he could) and by attempting to hit the gym.

Now Reggie is back and is still averaging a very suitable 11.9 RPG

I'm curious as to what your guy's opinions are on how Reggie kept himself in such great shape and how difficult it must have been to rehab himself while keeping off his foot. Any comments would be appreciated.

well it's definitely a welcome change over what we saw last year. the huffing and puffing and clearly out of shape physique left a lot to be desired.

But at the same time, dude is a professional athlete making millions for a physical activity. He owes it to the team and the fans to stay off the pies and to excersize.

I like Reggie but lets be real...He only stayed in shape because it is a contract year IMO

that's a pretty big assumption.

for sure, but i think it would be naive to think that that didn't at all play a part in his decision.

oh sure, i'm just saying i wouldn't only put it on that. There's also some other factors including wanting to be a better basketball player, wanting to be healthier, wanting to help the team, etc...

yeah i agree. Reggie is a hard worker and I think he realizes the team needs him this year far more than it has in the past. i still hope we can re-sign him for the right price.

I don't know what's more absurd this or the fact that someone agreed.

He's always been considered a professional so why would that change now?

no one is saying he's not professional.

but he was hella outta shape after a similar injury last season.

There is a difference between the reggie of last season and this season in terms of fitness. its evident in his play.

I saw Reggie being interviewed and he was asked this question... How he stayed in great shape during his injury.. and from what I recall... he said that every night he would hit the sauna and that he did a better job of sticking to a healthy diet and would only cheat on Saturdays.

I don't know what happened last year.

He came back at Patrick O'Bryant's level.
