Yep. We have depth now and can expect the bench to actually win games for us.

Everybody who is fighting for minutes looked good tonight (Banks and Douby aside as they played very little). Even POB looked good

We have couple of athletic wings in DD and Weems. And Bellinelli can drive and shoot so he brings a lot of offensive skills to table. Hopefully Wright is going to be as good as promised defensively.

In the big end we got two energy guys with different styles in Evans and Amir and then Rasho. Looking good.

2-15 from 3

But a couple nice performances

Derozan 19pts (got to the line 10 times)
Belinelli 15pts/4reb/3asts (6-13)
Jack 10pts/4asts
Jose 12pts/5reb

Weems also looked good again before injury. Overall pretty good game.

great games from the role players and the new comers... couldnt ask for a better showcase game for the newbies; dd, evans, belinelli, amir, JJ... good stuff.

damn.. i can't remember the last time our team was this aggressive. that's what i like to see from them: drive it to the rim. almost every guy on the roster can ball-handle and penetrate. don't matter who the hell is blocking the lane but just try to get a foul. no more dribble-then-pass until it reaches in CB4's hands. i think if almost every guy in our team can dribble-penetrate, we'll be just fine. but we'll see how things will turn out in 82 games.

Defence sucked for most of the game - I am getting more and more concerned there...

DD finally was aggressive. POB did actually look good. Bosh, Bargnani, Calderon, Jack - core players - all looked quite sub-par, at both ends of the floor, while Weems kept going nicely until he jammed his big toe...

Triano post game comments:

-Derozan still making mistakes, but really is a very good learner
-Belinelli, very smart player. If you take away his shot he can create for his teammates, likes the fact that he can also play the point.
-Everybody holding onto the ball too much on offense, no ball movement
-Amir and POB really added some energy and length late in the game, helped to change the game
- Bosh struggled, but it's to be expected
-Played pretty good defence which was the only reason they won
-Loved the fact that they were aggressive and got to the line all night. Which is what they've emphasising.

I loved DD's game today. He was awesome and got to the line a lot as well. 40 FT attempts today. Awesome

Weems got 6 boards in 10 minutes. Wow!
And Evans obviously wants those freethrows.

I do understand that is pre-season and coaches wants to see the second tier capabilities, but don't you think is time for the starters to play some decent minutes together in order to get to know better each other? Is Turk injured? Otherwise I want to see him playing some minutes along Andrea/Jose/Chris ... he was suppose to be the big addition that would put Raptors back on playoff race. I am not looking for 30minutes+, but 10 minutes won't be that much to ask. Except Andrea, all other starters looks like they are not in season game shape, yet.

17 days until the season starts. I think by the end of next week, things will tighten up and you'll see about 10 players getting the bulk of the minutes and i'm assuming that Hedo/Wright will be back, at least it's what it sounds like.

Let's put it this way - if Turk is still not on the floor with a couple of games to go in the pre-season, I am going to be seriously worried.

you can start worrying, because he won't play during pre-season, maybe he'll do the last game, but most likely not. He's only starting to train now, so even if he plays, he will be out of shape and useless on the court until 1-2 weeks into the season

He just played 10 straight months of basketball. I think he'll be in a game by next weekend and it shouldn't take him that long to get into game shape.

why? dude has knee tendinitis. it's not serious long term, but it could be an annoyance. rest him for the whole preseason... these games are meaningless.
