Default Predicting the Atlantic: Raptors #4

Ugh.... I might have to cheer for another team if we end up with a measly 36 wins this season.

BTW, this guy is apparently a Sixers fan. No homerism here eh?

1. Celtics (55-27) - Sheed helps, age hurts and alienating the only star on your team under the age of 30 is never a recipe for success. Boston is still in the upper echelon of the NBA, but they're at the bottom of it and I believe their championship window has closed.

2. Sixers (46-36) - A huge bounce-back year for EB. Better offense in the PO but carried by exceptional defense. (obviously, much more on this prediction at a later date).

3. Nets (39-42) - Subtracting Vince Carter equals more wins, believe it or not. They're now a young, hungry team with quality defenders all over the floor. Harris, Lee, Williams and Lopez make for a nice nucleus, now if they can only figure out what to do with Yi.

4. Raptors (36-46) - Everyone's darling in the Atlantic somehow made one of the softest rosters in the NBA even softer. Take a look at this starting lineup: Calderon, DeRozen, Turkoglu, Bosh, Bargnani. None of them can spell defense. They brought in Reggie Evans to add some toughness from the bench, but we all know that's a myth. Don't buy the hype on the Raptors.

5. Knicks (30-52) - The economy sort of helped the Knicks this summer. If there was any money out there, David Lee and Nate Robinson would be long gone. Instead, the Knicks will return basically the same roster, plus their disappointing draft pick, Jordan Hill (who will be competing with Lee for minutes). This roster is pitiful, 30 wins is a generous prediction, as far as I'm concerned. Consider them like Toronto, only talentless on both defense and offense. They do have a nifty gimmick system though, so they've got that going for them.

Leave your own predictions in the comments. Don't go into too much detail for the Sixers though, we'll be discuss those predictions in depth as the season draws near.

46-36 and Nets over the Raptors, this guy clearly doesn't know basketball so lets give him the benefit of the doubt and hope she just falls down the stairs and at least sprains his ankle

Wow...The loss of Andre Miller is going to really hurt the 76ers this year. I like Holiday a lot but they won't be able to replace Miller's experience. I don't think there is anyway that the 76ers finish better than the raptors...let alone 10 games better.

Default Are we really that bad?

Yes, Iím asking are we really that bad? After reading countless articles over the past month or two it seems to me like the rest of the NBA world seems to think our team is shit this year regardless of any of the trades we have made. This depressedfan.com idiot that posted this morning says we are going to have a 36 win season, and that our team just got softer and out bench is a soft, undeep myth. I realize that most people just shit talk because we are a Canadian team (which i donít see why there is all the hate, itís like we are from another planet or anything, there are fat, McDonalds loving, gun obsessed Canadians too) but why does the place where one plays dictate how shitty a team is. Personally i would never want to live in any American city because i feel that the US is a nice place to visit, but not to live.

Our Team has obviously (at least to us crazy Canadians) become a much improved team over last year. Every player we got, which is pretty much the entire team, was better than the person that they replaced. Is our defense going to be that bad? personally I donít think it will (although i donít think itís going to be the best either) and why does everyone ignore our scoring ability. I understand that "defense wins championships" but doesnít a strong offence also help in that task?

With pre-season games just around the corner i guess its only a matter of time before we find out just how good this team can look when everyone is playing together. Personally Iím convinced that at the least a 40 win season is in order, and that would be if we did not perform at the level we should be performing at. The players we acquired this offseason are winners in my book considering we had people like parker and moon starting last year.

Whatís going to happen when the NBA realized this year that this team actually does have some talent? Even though im confident that we will have a great season and finally see some playoff action, and hopefully some second round action! i always end up second guessing this team because it seems that all everyone wants to talk about is how shitty everyone is on this team. How bad turkaglu is (even though he lead the point guard less Magic straight to the finals) and how over rated players like jack are, and how just plain old shitty players like Beli and wright are. Iím sick of this crap!

People like this depressedfan guy saying shit like
Atlantic
2.Sixers (46-36)
3.Nets (39-42)
4.Raptors (36-46)

Just really make me quite angry, because this is just a straight out insult. Somehow after losing moon and parker for real starts and beefing out bench up 300 fold our team will only be able to win 3 more games this year than last, and last year we had "glass knees" O'neal on this team, who missed a good stretch of games. Really, all these Americans gotta back off because they are all going to looks pretty stupid once the Season starts and this team can prove that ya, just because we paly slightly above the American border, doesnít mean we cant play any basketball. Shit, out dam start is an American and he gets his on by his own people on the weekly.

Is there predictions any different than ours?

We all think our team is great, they think there is great.

Although any dolt can see that this team is gonna win a good bit more than 36 games.

Philly's taken two steps back this year, IMO:

1) Elton Brand coming back
2) Don't have a captain handling the ball

Point being the guy's in for a rude awakening.

Well, they have to play the games, then we'l see.

It's not wise to get to bent out of shape anyhow. Any idiot can make up an idea and use it as if it's fact, fuck, Jackson does it here all the time in his exhausting hate posts about Calderon.

(you know I love ya otherwise Filthy)

thing is, it's what you get to read for now.

The guy in Philly is an idiot. Think you're mad?

Try being a Boston fan, the dude flat out says they are finished.

Wow.

Just..... wow.

Same team that went 7 games with the eventual Champ team, WITHOUT thier key fucking player.

So ya, consider the source

Toronto can spell "playoffs" and that's more than we can say for Philly this year.
