Power Bands Don't Work

This story is from last week, but it's funny because I noticed Amir wearing one last game. Did it make his back sore? Or did it make it so he could battle thru the pain? lol

Power Balance bracelets, the popular performance accessory worn by athletes including Drew Brees, Kevin Durant and Kobe Bryant, provide no scientific edge, the company confessed this week.
The California-based company was forced to admit the lack of evidence supporting its claims of natural power after coming to an agreement with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Associated Press reported.
No band vs the Rockets.

For some reason I thought this would be a thread about 80's metal bands... I got a bit excited about it.

For some reason I knew your comment in this thread would make mention of musical bands...

You guys think any Raps listen to metal?

Wow what a breakthrough! Who knew? Next they will be telling us copper wristbands don't do anything for arthritis? Or maybe the easter bunny isn't real.

Shocking! :sigh:

obviously calderon, he gets rowdy

I was gonna say Kleiza.

But if you think Jose does, then it's really no wonder that he's my favourite.

He's more of a Julio Iglesias kinda guy. Apparently, he and Triano sing Hero to the team before each game to get them pumped. Which explains our shitty starts.

nahhh that song sucks. big hit, but not very good.

i'm pretty surprised people buy into the concept that there bracelets can help one's performance. Aren't baseball players all over a similar type of thing in a necklace?

Seems pretty bogus to me, but hey a couple of years ago Rafa Benitez (soccer manager) used to have players muscle tears treated with horse placenta.

Point being people will do pretty much anything if they *think* it gives them any kind of edge.

do you realize how much these stupid things cost? pretty crazy

J-Roc 01-10-2011 01:06 PM

I was going through photos for Amir and it looks like DeMar was wearing bands a few weeks ago, but now no more.

Andrea is wearing a band, though I can't get a close-up to tell what kind.

no, but at the same time the amount of money these dudes don't bat an eyelash at spending is just as proportionally crazy. and hey they can file it as an employment expense when they do their taxes.

I believe they're 50$. Which is fuckin' stupid. Athletes aside, ordinary everyday people spending 50$ for essentially a rubber band is rediculous. Not exactly surprising though.

Chris Bosh listened to Metallica as a Raptor

LilRomeo 01-10-2011 02:18 PM

It's crazy that the NBA allow players to wear bands while in high-school weren't allowed to wear them.
