Default Potential 10 day contracts?

With the addition of De Colo, Stone and Bucyks are practically useless at this point. They weren't great as a third option either. If we waive both of them, which we should do, now that we're heading to the playoffs and could use a bit more depth in the event of an injury, who would you guys pick up on a 10 day contract or for the remainder of the season?

List postion and player. Check out Hoopshype free agency:

PG: Right now injury to Vasquez/Lowry: we have De Colo, who not as bad as Stone/Byucks.

SG/SF: If any of the wing players go down: it's Novak (who when doesn't score the 3, isin't that great) or Fields (who can't shoot).

PF: we have some depth there, Hayes not bad.

Centre: have undersized Hayes and could use an additional guy with some more size.

1) Waive Buckys and Stone
2) Sign wing player and Center.

We're not waiving Buckys. Apparently some teams were interested at the trade deadline, but we didn't want to give him up.

He hasn't sucked, just never got consistent playing time.

Same with Augustine, now he's finishing games for the Bulls.

I'd say Buckys is def better than Stone, who couldn't even dribble the ball up half court in Vasquez's absence, but not by much. Poor Lowry had to play 40 plus minutes or something that game. If we were getting a second round pick for him (which I highly doubt), I would have def pulled the trigger. De Colo is already better security. Now we can all agree, that we don't have a true center. So some size would help, that means Stone likely would be waived if there was someone available. But Buckys could also be waived. Imagine Ross or Salmons get injured? I wouldn't feel comfortable with Fields taking those 20-30 minutes (he can't shoot anymore and defenses can basically leave him wide open on the perimeter) nor would I be comfortable giving those kinds of minutes to Novak (who when not scoring the 3, doesn't do much). So it's likely Buckys could be waived as well, in order to create space for a wing player. That could involve Ben Gordon, Artest, Rip Ham, Jackson. It's better having them as they won't cost anything beyond this year and provides us with added security to fill a postional need down the stretch. Buckys and Stone are pretty much useless with a very limited NBA ceiling, if any at all.

If I were the Raps I would seriously look at waiving Stone and signing Jason Collins. The only downfall to this is the media will make a big fucking deal out of it, since he came out saying he was gay. I couldn't care what his sexual preference is, we need a big body C to come off the bench and play defense, and he fits the description.

They were both given plenty of chances and stunk it up...

Was gonna suggest Dexter Pittman, then I seen that ATL signed him to a 10 day contract within the last 24 hours.

Darko Milicic comes to mind if he's down to play ball still and doesn't mind working his way back through 10 day stints

I think a Center or player at least 6'10,250 should be the target though

I voted Center but I just think we need another big so really just a PF/C type of player, doesn't have to be strictly a C
PG is pretty set with lowry and vasquez with de colo deep in the bench
SG/SF has a good rotation of DD, Ross and Salmons, and they can always use the lowry vasquez duo at PG/SG for some minutes every night. Personally I don't like picking up 10 day contract guys at the swingman positions cuz to me those are the versatile type players and you rarely ever get anything useful from a 10 day guy at those positions
PF/C has Amir, JV, Patterson, Hansborough and Hayes which isn't bad but they all lack size especially Hayes. I feel like you want 1 more big with size that can defend the paint and clog up some space on defense. Even if he can't provide much he can provide some fouls if we need to hack someone
I just feel like signing a swingman doesn't give much cuz the 10 day type of guys are pretty limited in their skills or they would be in the league already, those positions require you to be able to defend and shoot or you'll get exposed pretty quickly. Just look at Ross on the days he's not on, he looks pretty useless on the court. I don't need another player like that on the bench that doesn't even have the potential of Ross. You might as well just use a Buycks or a Stone then

Dexter Pittman just got release from his 10 day contract with the Hawks. Raps need some height behind Jonas and DP is a big body at 6'11,285 lbs. He's only 25 too. He seems to have a low motor but maybe in a youthful movement like the Raps he could blossom and become a steal. I say give him a look.

This ^^^. Raps should waive either Stone or Buycks and give Pittman a look. We desperately need a bench C on this team.
