last time I checked, charlotte and houston are not exactly tearing it up. Not to say that we couldn't use wallace, but I doubt replacing hedu with wallace would make this team any better. Raptors fans always make the mistake of overrating random players who play against us and have great games ... And marion ... he's not having the greatest year, and there's 4 more after this one. Got to think ahead too, focus only on the present and you get NYK.

and this game was not lost on D - not sure why anybody would think that. Nor was it lack of effort, it was fatigue. No amount of lack of effort will cause you to throw moronic pass after moronic pass, and no amount of getting back on D will allow you to catch an athletic guy who just intercepted a pass on the perimeter. It wasn't just the back to back, this team has played and traveled a lot. In 28 days we have played 16 games, with traveling all across north america.

Even with the 20+ dunks off turnovers, they still shot only 45%. THe pace was too fast, but that was due to those TOs, which made many possesions last 3-4 seconds And on the glass we've been competitive, and they shot poorly from the 3 as well. The dunks didn't came on penetrations for the most part, but on TOs.

I agree, our half court D was not bad. Take away transition dunks, and we probably held them to 35% or less.

Another guy that would have done this team wonders (and a guy that I've been wanting for YEARS now) is Jamison. He's not a defensive juggernaut by any means but he's >>>>>>>>>> Hedo. Just does so many little things to make his team win. WAS is already looking miles better with him in the lineup.
hm, you wanted to trade Bosh than? Or to have jamison come off the bench?(he's listed as SF/PF, but I don't think he ever played SF, at least not in the past 5 years)

With the lineup they have out there theyre just gonna keep getting exposed inside and vs quick athletic perimeter guys. You cant build a team like BC has and expect to go anywhere.

We've added some nice bench pieces but the core is off. We need a presence in the middle like Pryzbilla or Haywood, and a penetrating PG.
I think you're making the mistake of assuming this is a complete team. Right now there's uncertainty with the free agency. Once Bosh makes a decision, it's going to be easier to trade one or the other, whoever gets you a better deal. If Bargnani continues to play well, he's going to have a lot of value in a couple of years.

But than again, I think this is a 50 wins team. I though so yesterday, and one game will not change my mind. For the past 5 games, we held opponents to:

45% and 27% from 3
45% and 44% from 3
41% and 28% from 3
43% and 30% from 3
48% and 27% from 3

That's not bad imo
If we can sustain this kind of defensive FG allowed, we will soon climb defensive rankings and hopefully start to get some wins.

ya closer to 40% jeff.

He had 24 points and 8 boards, 1 turnover in that game and this forum is ripping him. Today he had 22 and 6, 0 turnovers.

When Hedo goes for 24 and 8 this whole board gets horny.

Get your head out of ur ass TURK!!

Actually, it's not 30% or 40%. The fact is 9-24 is pretty shitty. Plus why do some here compare VC to Hedo anyway. It's as if there was ever a snowball's chance in hell he was ever gonna come here. Or that BC had an option of Vince in anyway.

Who's got their heads up their asses? VC fanboys do. Move on boys, life's too short and the ship known as Wince Carter has long since sailed.

Why do you keep comparing Hedo with Carter??? Were we supposed to acquire Carter or something? I don't fucking get it

It's unbelieveably stupid. It's rather odd how all of a sudden we should have got Wince instead of Hedo........as if it was ever an option in any way. It's sad and Mr. Carter isn't worth it.

I never said we could get Carter back... ever. It was just a response to the poll that was out a few days ago.

Hedo needs to wake up. A few hours after the game, I'm not so pissed anymore. But Bosh/Bargs take too much of the blame sometime and I think Turk should shoulder more of the blame.

Oh, and Jeff... 37.5 is more often than not rounded to 40% rather than 30%... but nice try .

He's capable of playing either F spot. The knock on him coming out of college was regarding his handle (which has improved) and his 3pt shot (which he has now).

I'd give Hedo up for him right now. He's a hell of a leader, a fantastic rebounder and LIVES in the paint.

As for Wallace, Marion, Battier..... those are hardly "scrub players" that just randomly go off against us. They're excellent players that bring defense and energy to their teams on a nightly basis.

Lastly, if this team is gassed after 15 games then there's a serious problem. Every damn in the league has road trips and B2Bs. With the play of our bench, the starters haven't had to play 40+ min/gm so there's no reason that they should be tired. And if they are then they should get the hell off the floor so someone else can play.

I'll take people who think 9/24 = .30 for $200 Alex!

I don't know if they do that ("30%") for shock value hoping nobody will notice, or if they genuinely think that 9/24 = .30.

I can't speak for others, but I wasn't comparing them. I was responding to the silly and absurd statement that 9/24 = 30% shooting. It's been a long time since I was in school, but maybe it's the new math.

With our defence this year, we have been and i would hazard to guess continue to be good for alot of opposition team's histories. Talk about rolling over and taking it on the chin every time we play the second game of two. Give up the points in Vegas, and bet against the Raps. You can make alot of money over the course of a season on the second game of Raptor back to backs.
