Bargnani was a pussy as usual.

I got an issue with Bosh this game as well. I understand not fouling guys when you got it going offensively, and you're feeling the flow and you need to stay on the court to help your team, but when you're tossing up brick after brick, and you're just not feelin it, you should be fouling guys going in for layups, and trying to block everything around the rim.

Teams are taking the drive away against Bosh. He wants to keep getting to the rim, and he's hesitating because that option isn't there. He's got a sweet jumper, he has to stroke until the defense gets up on him. He's having a tough time reading that the past two games.

I expect he'll get it together against Boston.

My point is that when the game was close, Bargnani had multiple opportunities to stretch open a lead, and instead tossed up floaters and backed off from contact, and sent the ball on the break going the other way. Instead of six or eight points for us, it was that many for them. That's a twelve to sixteen point difference. But he was feeling it and needed more touches. Fuck that. The man is 7 foot. When your near the rim you can go up strong and Tyson Chandler is going do nothing more than foul out of the game.

There was even one of his makes where it bounced off the rim three times before going in, off a finesse runner in the lane, after he waited for someone to come over and stand between him and the basket. The guy caught the ball in the post and looked at nothing but open space and needs a lucky bounce to get two points?

At least Bosh was getting to the line through all of that. But shit he was atrocious right?
Well we know Bargs is a shooter, how can you expect him to go up strong when he never has? I don't accept that he's sort of a pussy down low but shit, at least I've tempered my expectations when he sets up on the blocks. He's what we've got to work with here.

Having said that, it doesn't take away from the fact that his shot was falling in the first half. Give the man the ball on the outside where he's especially effective. He was the ONLY guy hitting shots, how can you justify not feeding him? It's not his fault he was receiving the ball in opportune spots.

I brought Bosh up because I don't know how you can slag Bargnani when Bosh was, at times, killing us on offense. Forget his free throw attempts, for every time he got to the line he chucked up a silly shot when he could have just as easily deferred to Bargs. And at least Bargnani doesn't take half the shot clock to make a decision.

.
Maybe it is his fault though. It's kind of been the same story for Bargs his entire career, NBA and international. It's why the guy scored three points against Finland.

He just doesn't seem to have the respect of his teammates.

He's not a trustworthy teammate...it's hard feeding somebody the ball over and over when you feel like they don't have your back on the other end of the court.

And you know what, you may very well have a point there. But it works both ways. Especially with big men.

Jack always says that if you want your big man to go to work for you, you have to reward him.

Matt Barnes is gonna get fined. He just chucked a ball into the second deck of the Arena after the Magic lost by 1 point.

Leave what? Their towels? Definetly not hard work, with the exception of Lopez and maybe Harris.

Nets have Lopez, Harris, cap space, and potentially, a top pick. You could make the argument that they're in a better position than the Raps; future wise.

Bosh's shots were hardly silly. They were just off - badly off. And Bargnani just can't go up strong? That's insane. Did I just imagine his many abusive dunks? He can go up strong. He simply shrunk away from the very idea when the opposing team was focussing on Bosh and giving Bargnani every opportunity to make a difference. Missing a rushed layup when you could have just as easily had an and1 with a strong dunk is not making a difference. Making a couple of threes makes up for things a little. But missing easy twos, letting the other team off the hook when it comes to fouls, and then having the other team go on an inevitable break as a result of the missed layup, takes more than a couple of threes to do the job.

I liked Bargnani's energy to begin with too. But man he has to figure out what it takes to win games. Stop wasting possessions with cute little touches around the basket. You are 7 feet and 255 pounds. You are not a guard. You have the chance to be an all-around nice player. Stop limiting yourself and doing the other team such a huge favor.

Man you gotta be joking. Wow, people are off their nut around here. You can have all the capspace you want, who the fuck wants to play in New Jersey, very few wanted to play there when they were decent.

Give your head a shake will ya?

In all fairness the Nets have been decimated by injury (3 or 4 starters out at a time and only 8 guys in uniform on most nights), but if that was us a good portion of the people here would be on suicide watch.
