Let's change the subject here. If you're casting a ballet, and you have to pick a NBA player to be the lead in that ballet. Who do you choose?

Their is only one correct answer.

Found the Justin kid. He has more than one youtube video already. Should have known that he does nothing but dunk. But it's still pretty fun. And I guess Sprite hopes that he'll sell some pops. He was competing in the Sprite throwdown for the crown.

He does today's dunk at the :50 second mark.

LX, you can keep on crapping on Jose - be my guest. You know what, I will do you one better - from now on, you are officially on my ignore list for the time being. Toodles.

By the way, the answer to my earlier question, was of course Lebron.

Interesting turn of events.

Jose pissed me off by not going to the hole on breaks. He friggin' well hurt himself, again with no contact, but with his jarring pull up when the path to the basket was clear on a break. Then with the game fairly close near the end, he pulls up when he had nobody but Paul around, and CP was not between Jose and the basket, but caught out of position. I'm just sick of that kind of wilting.

Add Bargnani, Moon, and Kapono to the mix on most nights, and I just can't see where this team is ready to do the things that are necessary. Jack Armstrong is always talking about one team being the hammer and the other the nail, and there are just too many players with no interest in being the hammer.
Lol.... LX if you can't see the difference in this team now since Jay took over (or simply CHOOSE not to) then what can anyone say?

And nitpicking Jose when held his own against the best PG in the NBA is just laughable.

You "don't see that this team is ready to do the things that are necessary"? Our team D is MILES better than it was under Sam. It's not even close.

There's really no point in even TRYING to argue with you if you're not willing to acknowledge any kind of improvement at all. We've had 2 close losses to top teams (POR, NOH) and blown out two other teams that were close to us in the standings (IND, NJ). To me, that's showing signs.

Torap, the only difference is we're playing well right now. Right now being the key, and the only key.

It's so easy for everyone to forget the positives under Sam.

We did go to the playoffs, two years in a row.

As good as we played today, (did we?)
We played that good under Sam Mitchell.
We played defense that good under Sam Mitchell.
In fact, we played better defense and better overall, under Sam Mitchell.
And yes, of course, we played much more horrible under Sam Mitchell.

Those are facts.

Also

We will play horrible under Jay Triano.
We will play great under Jay Triano.

Those are also facts.

Every team goes through ups and downs. OKC will have a good string of games this year. It might only be 3 games, but a string of games nonetheless.

I think Sam squeezed is much out of these guys as possible.
Right now the Raps are loose, they're playing free, and their is a positive vibe surrounding this team right now. They're on a roll right now. (although they did lose 2 out of 3 at home). ((Sam did win his last two home games)).

They'll recognize the same limitations under Jay that they came to recognize under Sam, unless moves are made. We need some guards who can defend, who can play with contact, and who can get the ball to the rim.

I won't say that Sam did NOTHING positive for this team. He led us to 47 wins... although he did it with the best roster that we had in about 5 years.

The fact of the matter though is that he lost this team... and he lost them near the end of last season.

The guys needed a new voice and by the looks of it they needed a voice that was a little more forgiving and little less harsh.

As for our D... When was the last time that you saw us hold teams to less than 40% shooting in consecutive games?

If our guys lapse back into their previous ways I'll be the first one to admit that you were right.... but if our guys continue to play well it'd be nice to hear you acknowledge Triano's work. Guys like Jamario, Kapono, Joey AND Chris have come out and said that there's a difference under Jay... so I can't see why you're so resistant to admit it.

But maybe the only difference is the change itself.

A simple change can get things going and change the environment and mood around a team. But it doesn't make the team better in the long run. I havn't seen it atleast.

It isn't going to be happy never-ending fun land forever. We've beaten two shitty teams. And lost to two mediocre ones at home. Getting blown out by Cleveland and Utah on the road. 2-4 by my count under Triano. It shouldn't be happy never-ending fun land in raptor-nation right now, but it is for some reason, at least compared to a month ago..

It definitely sounds like the guys were stressed out under Sam, and the firing has lifted a big weight off of some of their shoulders, but maybe that shows a bigger flaw in their character than it does in Sams?

The Sam firing really opened my eyes to how average this team is. I was about as optimistic as a Rap fan could get when Sam was coach, and I think that's because you could tell Sam always thought we could be a great team. He never gave up, and had his eye on the prize.

Until the Denver loss. Sam gave up on them, he was defeated, and I think if anyone could recognize the limitations of this team, it's the guy who tried to defy them for two years.

YouTube - TFB:unks:: Justin Darlington...6'4" Is he the best dunker in the world?
he has tons of youtube videos, he's part of the group TFB, Team Flight Brothers which has brought together probably the best dunkers in the world into 1 group, basically if there's a major dunk contest happening somewhere the contestants probably just comprise of some of the members of the group
not to promote them but if people just want to see crazy dunking then search team flight brothers on youtube, they basically have their own channel on there, i'd be surprised if most people reading this didn't already know of them and justin

Wha????

Based on what you've seen from our wings over the last few games since Jay has taken over... based on the team D (that's not leaving Jose exposed)... you honestly want to give up hope on this team just because Sam isn't the coach??

In spite of the fact that guys who were thought of as "hopeless" are finally performing consistently?

I don't get that.

Anyone (particularly LX) who thinks we lost this game because of Jose is just foolish. Jose was Jose and he was one of our only bright spots, not to mention a perfect game from the field. It's not his fault the raps missed numerous wide open looks. He had a 20 and 7 game but could have easily had 11-15 assists if his team made shots they normally make.

Not bad. It was a disappointing to see them lose such a winnable game but nothing to be ashamed of. I don't know if I bought into the Bosh hype subconsciously, but I've been really disappointed with his play as of late. Its not that he isn't putting up numbers (because he is), but he just hasn't been playing like an impact player, and some of his decision making has been... selfish for lack of a better word.

If this team didn't have one of its worst shooting nights of the year despite Jose's 100FG%, we win or at least take it to OT. But really they should have penetrated more... I don't know how this team has problems in the paint with JO and Bosh on the floor.

I'm not sure who it was that Bosh knocked down and then dunked on in the 2nd quarter but that was GRIMEY. Made the game worth watching on its own.

trade bosh, how many games where we face good teams must we see the real bosh. Everyone is hyping him up ALL THE TIME, they fail to see how much of a tool he is when the game MATTER'S MOST. I wouldn't be surprised if the opposing teams game plan is to let Bosh score in the first 3 quarters, then they shut him down in the 4th to win the game.

SELL HIGH. Don't be scared because the media keep talking about what we have to do to keep him for 2010. He's been the same skinny weak ass player for the past 6 years.

SELL HIGH COLANGELO!!
