I think it's more of an age thing than it is regional. I know lots of people who curl right here in the big city.

In terms of watching it.... it is a lot like baseball.... you get a lot of tension when there is seemingly nothing happening.... lots of anticipation and buildup.

Of course, I don't actually watch it unless it is the Olympics (much like most sports).

Also - I got a big laugh reading the game thread and seeing the total ignorance about the sport of Curling in general and specifically it's popularity in Canada.
I'll remain happily ignorant.

They might as well televise paint drying.

Baseball is awesome, to me at least. I played competetive Baseball from the time i was 5 until i was into my 20's. My claim to fame is my AAA OBA championship ring we won when i was 14! But i realize it's not for everyone. lol

i think it's a little of both. most of the curlers i know in toronto (not all, but most)are a bit older (40ish) and are almost all from smaller towns before they moved here.

I agree, but we don't have to watch it. But in time Curling will mostly be ignored imo. Younger people today need more bang for their viewing pleasure. Anything too slow and they tune out, unless tiger woods is somehow involved. lol

I would love to see a game at Fenway. I remeber being in a baseball tournament in Windsor about 20 years ago and the whole team went over to Detroit and watched a Detroit/Baltimore game at old Tiger stadium. That was pretty special.Remember Cecil Fielder? lol

I would also love to see a game at Wrigley Field.

Kapono has been hitting some shots and it's exactly what we need from him. Spreading the floor and fast break is so nice for a trailing 3 pt shooter.

Another positive about the game, Marion seems to be rubbing off on Bosh that on the offensive glass... instead of giving up.. Bosh tries to smack it and keep it in play.

and LOL @ all the curling comments. If 4 girls THAT fat and seemingly out of shape can play it... it shouldnt be a sport.

I tried curling when I was a teen and I thought it was fun.

But I had already found my sport of choice

The strategy is to get massively drunk while doing it.
